ARK: Extinction - Expansion Pack
Ark: Extinction was a great addition to Ark. Got a little spoiler first According to the end video after defeating Rockwell, it appears you are sent through portal frames in the Element Falls shaft, through the Portal, across space then arriving on what looks like a ruined earth, which is the setting for the DLC Extinction and that is a really cool thing to notice if you see it. First of all, Extinction is not set on an ARK and was the first DLC not to be set on an ARK. Running around exploring extinction was probably the best thing for me to do. Starting off in the Great City/Sanctuary (this civilisation built the Arks) and finding the Proto-ARKS... Southeast, the desert PROTO-ARK. North, the Snow Dome and finally to the northwest the Sunken forest which failed and collapsed into the ground. Each of these domes represent past challenges. Desert - scorched earth. Snow - (vaguely) The Island and The sunken forest being Aberration. Finding all the lore in this map was fun and doing the supply drops was pretty damn difficult i cant lie but it was a blast with my dinos! I can remember my first Velonasaur... that thing was cracked on the first few days... or even the Managarmr... holy sh*t this thing could kill fast. you can see this map from the surface of Aberattion. You can also see it during the Overseer battle at the Islands ascension cut-scene but only from space as a "desert planet"

What the map adds
Extinction adds some very weird unique dinos and "built tames" - The Enforcer, scout, mega mek and mek you need to build. You can tame a Gacha, gasbags, Managarmr, snow owl and a velonasaur.
Extinction adds some new boss's such as the Desert Titan and its Flock. The Forest Titan and Forest Wyverns. The Ice titan and finally the big bad King Titan. These boss's are tamable... yes that's correct
Extinction also added "Corrupted" creatures that have been infected with element to the point where they are under a hive-mentality effect making them extremely aggressive and unnameable. They need to be killed.

Some Lore
Extinction is by far the saddest setting out of all the DLC and home to the most tragic moments in ARK lore.
The survivors with Helena, Mei Yin and Santiago were mentally broken down when they realised they escaped ARKS only to land in even greater danger instead of safety.
Santiago didnt get to see the MEGA MEK he made as he had to use a MEK to lure away a horde that was going to attack camp omega... he sacrificed himself.
Helena had to sacrifice herself to save her friends... she was too late and was only able to save Mei Yin from the King Titan. They buried the other survivors. Helena isn't at rest as her mind is crumbling beneath the knowledge that flows through her as ♥♥♥♥ Deus.
Mei Yin lost Wuzhui to the New Legion, Ao Yue to reapers and Diana to Rockwell and she lost Helena too who is in a coma and the rest of her friends to King Titan.

My Verdict
All in all... you can tell I love Ark and I love the story of the survivors. 7.5/10 for this one. I just wish it wasn't to "element focused" that's all. Some of the dinos too kinda ruined this for me a little but im not complaining.

This DLC is CANONICAL to Arks story. In order The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis part 1 and Genesis part 2

ARK: Aberration - Expansion Pack
Ark: Aberration is my all time favourite DLC. This map, every new dino, every variant of dino just "wowed" me to the core. ||The fact that this Ark is malfunctioning due to some system errors was a great way to shake up Ark|| The plethora of biomes in this map is amazing. From intense radiation zones to a surface that burns you and kills you in less that 10 seconds. Most of this map is set underground due to the surface being what it is and with everything happening underground with all that radiation.... well... that led to some incredible mutations. From being able to walk on ziplines with a Ravager to riding on a giant snake (basilisk). From the Rock Drake that can go invisible to a friendly bulb dog that can keep the dark at bay. From the Karkinos that can grab more than one dino to the birth of a "REAPER" after being impregnated by a Reaper Queen.... this map blew my mind and with the reaper king and queen... as an ALIEN fan... this was it for me. This had my attention at 100%. I can still remember my first Reaper Queen impregnation... me screaming at the top of my lungs "HURRY UP AND GET IT OVER WITH, I AINT GOT ALL DAY" - hours later in a dark cage - "OH BOY, HERE THE LITTLE SH*T COMES" and OFC i forget to use a phermone gland and the little bugger kills me and runs away.... haha. I will never forget Aberration and I hope Ark 2 has some resemblance to this map one day!!

What the map adds
Aberration adds 22 new dinos - Alpha basilisk, Alpha Karkinos, Alpha Surface Reaper King, Basilisk, Bubldog, Elemental Reaper King, Featherlight, Glowbug, Glowtail, Karkinos, Nameless, Ravager, Reaper King, Reaper Queen, Rock Drake, Roll Rat, Seeker, Shinehorn, Subterranean Reaper King, Surface Reaper King and Lamprey. It also adds almost all versions of dinos as "Aberrant spawns too" e.x Aberrant Carnotaurus, Aberrant Spinosaur and Aberrant Manta and many more.
Aberration adds 1 new boss ROCKWELL (cant say much more on this without spoilers)
Aberration also has a unique environmental setting ranging from Earthquakes to Seasons which affect the length of day and night time - this also affects how long you can stay on the surface for.
Aberration also adds a plethora of new craftables and items to obtain like - Cave-climbing picks, gliding wingsuits, ziplines, hazard suits and much much more.
Aberration also disables ALL flyers. So you cannot fly on this map whatsoever.

My Verdict
My review clearly shows how much I love this map... if I could I would rate it 15/10 as how much I love this map and all the dinos and equiptment and lore and EVERYTHING in this DLC!!!! I have 2 facts for you, sadly the first is a spoiler so read at your own discretion, The Broken ARK, which is the setting for this DLC, is visible during the Ascension cutscene of the Island if one looks out the windows and almost every dino on Aberration is NEW.

This DLC is CANONICAL to Arks story. In order you need to do The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis part 1 and then Genesis part 2
