Full of bugs and it gets boring. I've spent more time on the settlement building aspect than the game. Also, the save issues with survival are a pain in the ass. Game'll freeze up from time to time and it only saves when you rest. This is fine until you're in an area like glowing sea where you can play for a solid hour before being able to rest somewhere to save and your game freezes, dumpin all your progress. It doesn't happen very often but it's frequent enough to discourage me from going much further in the game. I can also deal with the fact it's rpg elements have been sacrificed to an extent, but the dialougue options are a joke. You can answer anything however you want and the outcome will always be the same. Aside from getting some xp for persuasion options there's no reason to even interact ewith the other characters, they could have just as easily made everything cutscene like with no input on your end. All in all, it's an OK game. Buy it on sale, don't waste money on the dlc's except maybe far harbor if you really enjoy the game. It's a 50/50 for me but I'll downvote because of the bugs, you spend half the time having fun and the other half fighting the engine.

I still come back to this game time to time. Extremely fun, I wish they'd make a sequel.

I wish I could give this a nuetral review. It's not terrible but it's not fantastic either, many of the things you're capable of doing are completely arbitrary. Sure you can make a shelter, but they fall apart like paper if you use wood. Check the forums, people dont make homes they exploit zombie movement mechanics which make it more efficient to just make a floor of spikes and a platform above to shoot them. Sure you can make weapons, but anything short of the .44 and a few other weapons basically guarantee you wont kill the horde day 7. Which brings me to the whole random world gen thing, you better find a city by day 3 or 4 to get all these pieces and prints or you'll never survive day 7, unless you exploit horde mechanics and wait out in the distance for the horde to spawn so they zero in on the wrong location. It's not bad, it's just not very good. Don't take my word for it, check forums and see the new player advice. Crouch in corners at night and afk for 15 minutes until the sun rises, dont waste resources on a shelter. Some of the craftables are uneccesarily difficult to craft as well, it seems like more of an artificial difficulty barrier for the hell of it (looking at you 20 animal hide for a forge). Sure it's open world, but there's only a handful of ways to succesfully play, so it's not really.

20 years later and the only cheat code from any game I remember is cmgsmmggts. Also, this game's awesome, nostalgia overload.

Game is crazy fun, it reminds me more of demons souls than dark souls which is fine for me as that was my favorite one.

It's not that it's totally bad it's just generic and underwhelming. I'm not going to post a long winded review, just notice the theme amongst all the negative reviews.

Game is still complete garbage. It's been months and the added "content" is laughable. The same glitches are there ( not being able to interact to turn in quests is a big one I've had problems with from day 1). The gameplay is still undewhelming, the city devoid of anything worthwile. They could've made this game mission based with the option to co-op like a resident evil game and it literally wouldn't effect the content at all, that's how lifeless and useless the map is. I'll post again after a few xpacs because I was dumb enough to pay for a season pass before launch. Won't be making that mistake again with Ubi.

Update 2
1.4 patch came out, logged into my game and there's literally no difference. Enemies are a bit easier to kill now and you get items for levelling past 30. Tried matchmaking for a mission and literally waited over 45 minutes for it to find another player. Either overlevel the content or trick your friends into buying this. Seriously Blands 2 is a loot driven shooter and has a million times more content than this. Just buy that instead.
