Today a little girl asked for my name, so that she can name a painted world after me. I did not know how to answer. It seemed like such a simple question but it bore heavy on me.
Unable to bear it any longer I refused her. I said I had no name...
The crossbreed girl smiled a knowing smile. She remarked that I was much like her in that regard and mercifully agreed to call the painting "Ash".
I felt a profound relief wash over me. That and gratitude and a sense of kinship for the crossbreed girl. She was just like me? It must be for this reason she gave no name when we first met.
Perhaps she too, just like me, was ashamed of the fact that she decided to call herself
