Keep in mind that I haven't finished the game, and I don't plan to do so in the near future.

The only SoulsBourne games I haven't played are Demon Souls and Blood Bourne. Hopefully that will change soon. Out of DS1, DS3, Elden Ring, and Sekiro, DS2 is unquestionably the worst. It's not even close. I wouldn't rate the other games I've played below a 7/10. DS2 is at most a 3/10.

I think it's the areas that mostly contribute to the score. Each of them can be distinguished from one another and look cool.

Now, what brings this game down to a 3 however, is mainly the atrocious hitreg system. When you get hit, you hardly get staggered, you barely notice it. The i-frames are a disaster, you can't dodge properly because you keep getting phantom hit. It's unbearable. That's why fighting against magic is so annoying, because you don't know when or in which direction to dodge.

The bosses up until Iron Keep in my opinion were so incredibly boring, not even hard just lame. It felt like every boss was the same: "big guy with big weapon, implemented with a trash moveset". They weren't interesting at all. I honestly could not name one boss even if I tried.

The gameplay in general feels sluggish and unpleasant. I might come back to this game and finish it someday. However, after almost taking a year and a half break from it to then almost immediately uninstalling it, makes me never want to acknowledge that this game exists. This is From Software's worst game by a long shot. Couldn't even recomend the game to a diehard SoulsBourne fan.

I found the movement more bearable with some controller configuration adjustments, so that you can rotate your character 360 instead of 4 ways.
