Masterpiece

Starfield is Bethesda's new "ip" that takes everything that's good from their previous franchises and do not implement it.
It's the same old Bethesda formula and every storyline including the main is just recycled from Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout 4 and yet somehow manages to make it even more bland and uncaptivating. There's nothing that brought me excitement during my 20+ hours so far. Do not take this the wrong way, I am enjoying exploring in this game and just doing my own thing building ships and outposts in the vast amount of planets but for it's price tag, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Graphically this is an embarrassing release. The requirements for this to even play remotely "OK" is outright outrageous.
The city of Neon which is a take on Cyberpunks Night City was the most fun in the game but not in a good way. It's beyond me how they manage to make a universe even more lifeless than what Cyberpunk was on its initial release. Today, Cyberpunk in my personal opinion is one the coolest futuristic universes and a studio like Bethesda will never keep up. Whether it's was inspired or to mock CDPR, this should've been kept out the game to save themselves from the embarrassment.

This game asks for high end requirements for outdated graphics that somehow looks on par with Fallout 76, a lesser title from the Falllout franchise. Not much to say about it. Unoptimised just like any other Bethesda game. Also, this game has one of the most unattractive LUT/Shaders on it. I highly recommend to use Nvidia filters or ReShade to make this look somewhat "OK"

Gameplay wise it's and improvement but a massive downgrade at the same time. Gun feels fun to use, melee is scuffed as in any Fallout game but the enemies are even greater bullet sponges than their previous titles. The AI has not improved at all and I have not expected it be any better either.

The entire outer space theme also is fairly questionable. The game doesn't force you to travel anywhere by ship. Instead you can just fast travel to any location from the ground. The issue is that you don't get to experience anything. You don't get to do take offs nor do you get to land the ships. Instead they throw a loading screen at your face. Now, I didn't expect anything close to Elite Dangerous but tiny details like this is what makes a game fun. They could've at least have made it optional for the people interested in flight sims.

The only thing this game has going for itself is the exploration aspect. It has alot of planets and locations but serve no purpose other than material gathering. Every planet/galaxy has the same 1-3 species formula in it making it very uninteresting.

But with this being another Bethesda title, the only thing that will make this remotely fun will be the modding community itself which is why I have even bothered investing in it. But I can not recommend a game that at its core is boring, uninspired and dull unless you have the cash to throw around.
