I absolutely love this game, and have for a long time. Gripped me, and I still get spooked from playing it. I have yet to play the Iron Rig DLC, but I have no doubt it will be wonderful! Absolutely worth the price

This is an updated review after the Sony announcement on May 5th. In short, Sony backed down and said that the linking requirement is not going forward on May 30th. This is a great thing, and what we wanted, so why am I still leaving a negative review?

I DO WANT THIS GAME TO BE PLAYED AND ENJOYED, but I am leaving this as negative because none of this needed to happen in the first place, and the damage itself is still here. We almost lost the community and wonderful experience that this game provides due to the publisher strong-arming the link ALONG WITH the developers withholding critical information from the consumers. That is not something that should be forgotten, and I certainly won't.

The CEO of Arrowhead has been quite vocal on his part in this issue, and I applaud him for his transparency with us. As such, I do not hold any large amount of ill will towards him or the developers. Again, however, all of this could have been avoided. The communication was not there, and this was made significantly worse by the massive gap in time where it was not mentioned. The effects of which, were clearly seen, and justified.

The only thing I need to say about Sony is that we all saw what you tried to do. We saw you try to discreetly change the wording of your terms of service on your website after the announcement, and we now know you made Arrowhead make the account linking mandatory a mere six months before the game launched causing this whole issue in the first place.

Make no mistake, this weekend has not been easy for ANYONE at Arrowhead, but especially for the CEO. He was working constantly on trying to get answers for us from Sony, and giving us answers as best as he could to not keep us in the dark anymore than he had. He was trying to stop the inferno that was threatening to destroy everything he and the development team had spent eight years pouring blood, sweat, and tears into. It is truly gratifying to see that they won. We won.

That does not mean that it is all sunshine and rainbows. Lots of trust was broken, and goodwill has greatly diminished. The majority of the community manager's being immature and utterly dismissive of the issue was a complete fiasco. Basically, there is some cleanup to do. I believe that Arrowhead is up to the task, and that this developer team has the ability to make the most of this second chance.

Really fun time waster game for a perfect price. Solid sound effects all around, nice score to go along with it, and just enough lore to paint a picture but leaves enough to the imagination. I admit, I really miss the difficulty tweak that they added earlier and subsequently removed, but it will come back later.

Honestly? To me this game is perfect. 10/10, will spend many many more hours in this

Very fun, lots to explore and try. As of right now, there are quite a few technical issues but considering this is the opening days of the game that's to be expected. Very fun, exciting, and definitely worthwhile!

It may be a DLC simulator disguised as a bag throwing simulator, but don't forget to buy the Scarface character pack as it is not going to available on the store after October 1st!

Legit unparalleled destruction. I personally enjoy the campaign and the multiplayer is not dead! There is still an active, albeit small community that still meets up to play! Well worth it

I played this back on the XBox 360, and its just as good as I remember it. You will likely have to download the Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D file, but it is a simple fix and a good walkthrough on YouTube will sort it out.

Whether it's for nostalgic reasons or you're genuinely interested, this game is for sure worth your money.

I love this game, and I always will. However, I cannot keep a positive review of it because the bot crisis is beyond out of hand. The bot crisis has been around a long time, but the escalation really started with the Meet Your Match update of July 2016. Yes, July of 2016, so as of the date of this review it has been just short of eight years.

EIGHT. YEARS.

The bot crisis has been plaguing this game for almost HALF OF ITS LIFESPAN.

While I could go on about how bad the Meet Your Match update was/is, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that do it far better than I could. The reason it matters and why I bring it up at all is because the changes that were made allowed the bot crisis to come even close to what it is now.

The good news is that it does not have to stay this way. There is a big community movement to pressure Valve to remedy the bot crisis, and this review is a small way of helping making that demand heard. This community is incredibly dedicated, and despite all the problems it does have, we all want this game to succeed. Vote with your wallet, and with your words to FixTF2.
