I have like 2 hours into the game so far, it gives God of War vibes but in the Wild West (with the appropriate gadgets).
You can brutally finish enemies once you get them low enough, you have perks, you have upgrades, you have levels.
It's really closer to the Darksiders type of game, but overall this is amazing.
Graphics are a 10/10 from me, the story is actually interesting and cranking up the difficulty to Hard and above does a very good job at making enemies bullet sponges. (I was on Normal and it was a bit easy, feeling like you can tank hits and not die that fast, kind of reckless gameplay. I switched it up to Hard and you actually need to play more carefully as enemies have a bit more health, they hit harder and there's a higher density in each level.)
The mechanics and the controls are a bit weird to get into and I wouldn't recommend buying this game full price, but if you catch it on sale it is definitely a must try.
There are Lore collectibles, Chests and money you can get in each level. That's how you upgrade your weapons and gadgets. For the actual perks, it's levelling up which doesn't take too long at all.
It's not huge on exploration, but it's definitely better than sticking to one path only and finding stuff along the way. You actually have to go out of your way and take different routes if you wanna find all the chests. Each mission has like a summary of things you can find and it tells you how many you found.
You can also play co-op, but only after the first mission and it's really fun.
Also, to be fair, there is a decent amount of dodging and pairing is optional if you wanna do some... special things to the enemies. No spoilers here. But you can also stun them to break their special attacks.
And there might be certain enemies that are more annoying than others, but you have that in every game like this.
