With all it's unethical business decisions, great big disappointments and god awful CEO of the company, I've been a fan of the game for it's characters and it's passionate and creative Dev team. Yes they do things that I don't like sometimes and I feel like it's fair to call them out on it (getting hindered); but sometimes I just feel bad that they may be the ones receiving the heat for bad decisions made by some higher up that will never change their minds.

The other element of this game that I love is the characters and there design; it's probably the only reason I play this game and not something like Valorant, Fortnite or Apex because I'm just drawn to these character's designs and personalities far more and I do feel like I'm actually playing them. Each one feels great to handle and move about the map and even something as small as the way a character holds the gun exudes personality. Voice acting's fantastic too and I love the slowly evolving and addition of more interactions as the game moves forward.

All the new characters have been cool but my personal favourite so far is Junker Queen. Illari is the newest addition and she is extremely fun and cool to play and I imagine she'll be up there too once I get the hang of her.

The shop is awfully priced, a Legendary skin is NOT worth $20. It feels extremely predatory and it's bad when you have a whole group of people wishing for Lootboxes of all things to come back. It's not that Lootboxes were good, it's that the shop is so bad that Lootboxes are better by comparison. During the One Punch Man event, maybe that was fair? Because it's a crossover and it felt more worth getting (I didn't get it because I don't watch the show) but every legendary skin being $20 is ridicule.

If you don't pay a dime on this game, it being free to play, there isn't too much to reward you besides being able to unlock the new character for free and earning credits to buy the Overwatch 1 skins that you missed. For new players this is probably pretty great as there are some fantastic skins that you can get for free if you put in the effort and earn the coins. However it's so hard to get those coins and the credits you get aren't that much.

The battlepass is probably the most valuable thing in the game so far; a bunch of skins and charms and such for $10 as well as whatever new hero released. They've made efforts to make the battlepass more themed than they did for the first 4 seasons so that's good. Yeah idk, if ALL the great skins were in the battlepass and not behind a random paywall unrelated to the battlepass, maybe I'd call it a GREAT battlepass, but I feel it's good. The Ana mythic this season is pretty cool too btw.

Toxicity in the game isn't that bad; not as bad as Overwatch 1 was anyway. There are some mean folks every now and again but on the whole you get a mostly friendly crowd that just wanna have fun and play the game. I am in Gold btw, take with a grain of salt these comments

I really enjoyed this game when it was in it's most fun states and nowadays, it feels pretty good with some odd balance choices. But the air does stink of dissapointment fatigue and for all the right reasons sadly. It's hard to build up hype for something that has let you down over and over and over again.It was when the first beta went live, it was when the overwatch 2 finally released, it was when they said there is "Pve elements" in that Starwatch gamemode, it was when they cancelled PVE as we thought it to be. It's the devs and artists that make the game passionatly that hope to share what they've been working on but are battered by the Execs (or maybe just Exec) to do only what makes the money machine flow. I'm giving this game a thumbs up because I can't in good conscience say that the devs did a bad job. The ones who deserve the thumbs down aren't gonna care that we're upset.
