I have no idea why, but apparently this game has received a lot of hate. In my opinion this is undeserved.
I have, at the time of writing this, about 57 hours in game, and I expect that to get to around 70 as I fully intend to clear out the map completely (losing cuff-scan made this somewhat harder) - and because I bought the DLC yesterday, because obviously.

I think the game is great, and I am having a great time exploring (and hopefully saving) Athia. It is beautiful, and the number of screenshots I have deemed neccessary to send to my wife is, well, a lot. Give the game a chance, you might be surprised.

It runs well, the mechanics work, it's pretty, the fighting is fun, the vast landscape is desolate and bearing witness of the calamity that has befallen this world. It all works, and I sincerely hope we get a sequel.

Edit after completing the DLC:

So, after 70 hours I have completed all content of the main game as well as the DLC, and I have enjoyed every minute of my playthrough. I am absolutely baffled by the vitriol this game has been subject to, and for the developers I have this to say:

That final sequence after completing the DLC and, trying to limit the spoilers here, looking out across the sea from Visoria, I was left fulfilled and slightly exhausted. This game is so, so good, and it is this 47 year old gamer's hope that you get to complete your vision and create the sequels this game deserves and complete your story.

I do not have that many hours in, and most of the hours I do have has been spent exploring the castle. It truly is a wonderful experience that my words can hardly do justice. I may add to this comment when I get more time in, but I doubt my impression of the game and the world is going to change. Great job developers, great job indeed.

Edit: So, roughly 80 hours later and I've completed the game and has 100% on everything. It has been a truly magical journey, and my love for both the game and this wonderful world has only strengthened. I enjoyed every second I spent in this magical world, and will surely return to play through it again as a representative of the other houses. But for now I am done with it.

I did not experience many issues at all during my playthrough, and can in fact only comment on three specific issues that I encountered:

- I feel through the map once as I was exploring along the walkways outside the castle
- I spawned inside a wall when I used one of those revolving statues to exit a dungeon on the coast. It was the one with the castle with the maze in front of it
- As I jumped into a pool of water to enter a treasure vault somewhere on the coast I fell to the bottom and had to restart to get out. It worked the next time so it was just a glitch.

I am a PC player by the way, so I cannot comment on issues on other platforms. Furthermore it has run silky smooth on my RTX3080 and as such I have not seen any of the performance issues some commenters have talked about.

All in all: I have had a wonderful time with it and hope we will eventually see a sequel or a couple of DLCs.

Edit 2: Just wanted to get something else off my chest. Now I've got no problem with deluxe editions containing cosmetics that aren't available in the standard edition, though I would have liked for Felix Felicis to not be locked to the deluxe edition. However, what I do not appreciate is platform exclusive content. There's one quest line in Hogsmeade that is only available on Playstation, and honestly I do not see the point in doing this. Console players will buy and play the game on console regardless, and the same is true for PC players. I will not buy a Playstation just for that one exclusive quest, so why do this? It's a little annoying, and now, whenever I Revelio near that one particular door in Hogsmeade, it will glow blue but I can't interact with it. It's irritating.

This game is phenomenal! The story, the music, the environment, the characters. I love everything about it, and now that I have finished it I am left with a big, gaping hole in my life. So I guess it's time to start another Skyrim playthrough...

In short, this game is absolutely brilliant, and I for one loved every second of my 14 hour playthrough. Of course I still have some achievements left to hunt for, and I will, but as I finished the game I was left feeling somewhat unfulfilled. This is not exactly because of the game itself, but rather because I felt the end was somewhat too abrupt. There should be more, and I would actually be happy if there was some mechanism that would keep providing delivery missions after completion. There is so much more to explore in this amazing city, and I definitely hope there will be more content to come in the future. This city has so many stories and secrets to uncover, and I definitely hope the devs and the writers provide them.

This has been sitting in my Steam library for quite some time, but I finally got around to playing it. I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it quite a lot. It's rather short (finished in under four hours), but the story is good. I recommend it, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Just bought this game on friday, and has since struggled to maintain an acceptable balance between real life and game time. Unfortunately real life obligations do need to be prioritised according to my wife, so my gamimg sessions has to be limited to the evenings - and that's my only gripe with this game.

It is brilliant! And I find myself thinking about it when I'm unable to play, and I find myself immersing myself in the world when I am able to. The puzzles are brilliant, the philosophical meanderings, while certainly interesting, are, as others have pointed out, not exactly new, but the way the message is delivered through the game medium certainly is.

I am still making my way through world A, fully committed to finding all the secrets this world contains. The stars certainly presents a greater challenge than the sigils themselves (at least so far), but apparently there are also certain easter eggs to hunt down (which I will - being something of a completionist).

It truly is a masterpiece, and it runs beautifully.

There's nothing I can say about this game that hasn't already been said thousands of times.
I rate it 10/10 units of Freeman.

But I do have one question:

So ... is Half Life 3 out yet?

Early Access Review
This game piqued my interest as I first stumbled upon a written preview of it somewhere. So I promptly purchased it and off I went to explore the vast oceans of this planet I seem to have crashed upon. The Aurora is in a sorry state, and I am having problems envisioning a way of ever being able to return home. I suppose I could have been stranded in worse places. The atmosphere is breathable, the water is warm and clear, and the indigenous life-forms seems friendly enough (at least the ones I have seen so far - and they don't taste too bad either, which is always a plus). Since I am to establish a colony here I do hope that at least one of the women got off the Aurora alive (although if that one woman turned out to be Gunnery Sgt. Rosie Grantham I'd rather we spend our days on opposite sides of the planet - if there ever was an obvious bull-♥♥♥♥ she certainly is one).

So, my first day on this planet (that I have yet to name), was spent stopping the escape-pod from trying to kill me, and then scouting my immediate vicinity. The oceans are very much alive with a cacophony of sound and bioluminescence - it is actually breathtakingly beatiful.

The second day was much the same. I figured out how to use the on-board fabricator, but in order to operate it I will need to gather raw materials from the local environment. Fine, venture out to the sea once again. "Oh look! Large underwater tree-like structures ... so pretty! And there's something swimming around down there ... I've not seen those fish yet, I wonder if... OH CRAP WTF WAS THAT?"

So yes. It's a survival game set mostly underwater. It is very pretty, and it runs well. I have only dipped my toes into this game as of yet, but I am really looking forward to further aquatic adventures.
