It's similar to Quake 1 with the setting of Blood. Basic but smooth gameplay. Dusk doesn't bring new elements to the genre. It plays around with mob densities and level geometry. The first episode is the weakest of the three and level quality peaks at episode 2. They ran out of inspiration towards the end of episode 3 throwing random mobs and bosses at you. The game is solid but not as good as the ratings let you believe it to be. There are better retro/boomer shooters out there like Blood: Fresh Supply, Ion Fury: Aftershock and Arthurian Legends. I would recommend Dusk to fans of Quake 1 but only at a discount. If you are new to the genre then Blood should be at the top of your list. Great atmosphere though, I would like to see a Silent Hill 1 clone from this developer, PS1 style.
