These snivelling, snobbish, knuckle-heads wanting to be "compassionate" and give everyone equal access to PS5s are, ironically, anti-worker, anti-quality, and anti-merit. This is truly what happens when morality is put before efficiency, and is a shining example of the unintended consequences of authoritarian restrictions placed on markets trying to do what they do best: distribute goods to those who want it most.

God forbid these buffoons get their hands on the housing market or find themselves in charge of distributing medicine. What an utter farce. Disgusting.

Dynamic pricing and scalping also distributes consoles to consumers with the most disposable income--the same people most able and willing to purchase the games for the platform. Video game developers will be more able to rest assured that their investment in developing these games will be returned and them some, with eligible consumers easily able to pay the $60 and even $70 price tag on most AAA games. This quite possibly could increase the budgets of these games, allowing more staff to be hired, more details andattention to game mechanics, more quality voice-acting, and so on.

Scalpers combat the morally bankrupt idea of "price-fixing," implemented by tyrants who believe everyone deserves a PS5 equally, and that the price should be the same for all individuals. Myself and those who are dedicated to free-markets and personal freedom and choice, however, realize that this practice quickly leads to empty shelves, cleaning out the stock, and distributes PS5s essentially according to a lottery system. Whoever is the pushiest in the store, whoever clicks the button on Amazon first--this is the person who merits receiving a PS5 most to these autocrats. With scalping and a dynamic pricing model, those who elect to spend the most money--at least, money in accordance with the high-demand market conditions--get the privilege of owning Sony's newest and best console.

To be honest, not only is it completely fair game for people to buy up PS5s and try to resell them at higher prices, it is their moral imperative.

Since the dawn of man, we have reckoned with situations in which demand for certain goods far exceeds the supply capabilities of the time. In these cases, the cost to attain such goods rose in order to allocate these goods to those who most needed them. People willing to pay more or work harder for something clearly need or desire the good to a greater degree than those unwilling. Those just looking to get in on the newest pop-culture craze, kids who just want to play Bugsnax, others not in the community of core-gamers--casuals. Do they deserve a PS5 as much as those who will pay more, and use the console as intended and as much as possible?
