As a seasoned GM and an experienced player, think this game is quite enjoyable. It captures the feel of a tabletop Rogue Trader session. I would like to share my initial observations with a pro-con list.

Pros:

Immersive Storytelling: The narrative of Rogue Trader is a good. The storyline is rich and detailed, effectively capturing the grimdark essence of the Warhammer 40K universe. It also awakened the feel of BG and IWD for me. So far it enabled me to proceed along the all moral approaches. (Ok, yeah. "Moral" It is grimdark. Everyone is evil. Maybe except iconoclasts, but even then...)

Character Development: The character customization is exceptional. It offered me a vast array of options that affect both gameplay and story progression. Melee and psionics rulaz, so far.

Strategic Depth: The combat system strikes a balance between strategy and accessibility. If you played Xcom style games, you are flying by colors. If not, easy to learn. Leverage your reutine's unique abilities and equipment.

Dynamic World: The game world is actually surprisingly good. Each event takes on its own scene, and as such there are few "filler" zones.

Stunning Visuals and Sound Design: The graphics are good, I felt like I was observing a 40K environment. The sound design and voice acting are impressive. Music is good, in that militaristic religious-dictatorship way.

Multiplayer Options: The inclusion of co-op mode is delightful. I have not tried it yet, as I try to push my friends to get the game. They will, they just don't know it yet.

Cons:

Learning Curve: Newcomers to the Warhammer 40K universe might find the game's lore and mechanics a bit overwhelming initially. However, the game does a decent job of guiding players through the basics. But even figuring out what talent or ability comes each level, or even how many one gets in total is hard at times.

Camera: Sometimes camera position is not easy to follow. Which is surprising since it is under our control. Also, the ability to permanently toggle highlighting interactable objects would be good.

Conclusion:

Rogue Trader CRPG captures the essence of the Warhammer 40K universe, and the mayhem & fun of a Rogue Trader crew. The few cons are far outweighed by the game's numerous strengths. As a game master who appreciates well-crafted narratives and intricate gameplay, I highly recommend it.

Heh. This year is really good for me, with BG3, this one... Crossing fingers for more.

As a Dungeon Master and roleplayer with three decades of experience, I am genuinely excited with Baldur's Gate 3. It is a monumental achievement and it brilliantly captures the essence of classic rogue-likes such as Nethack and SSI games, along with the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale series.

From the very beginning, "Baldur's Gate 3" mesmerized me with its depiction of FR. The freedom of action this game offers is unparalleled so far. Every choice, every decision feels impactful, and the range of options available for tackling any situation is so wide. Dialogue options, combat maneuvers, or innovative use of the environment (exploding barrel stacking to cliff / trap pushing) it encourages and awards creative problem-solving.

The game is perhaps predictable for me, with my strangely deep roleplaying and scenario writing experience, but I am guessing it is a bit unpredictable and challengingfor most of its players. It revived the thrilling sense of adventure and discovery for me with the games of old I played. I would not say no to more loot though.

The game's narrative is a masterpiece, weaves (not The Weave) complex characters and rich lore into a compelling tapestry that kept me engaged. The voice acting is top-notch, and it would be a real shame if the voice actors won't get awards & recognition for their work here. They breathe life into each character.

Of course, I would have loved seeing something like this for all the D&D campaign worlds, from Krynn to Kara-Tur, to Athas, (sigh) Ravenloft...

As a seasoned roleplayer, I appreciate how BG3 respected its roots while boldly innovating. It is a really fresh scent among other games for me. I have played it on my PC and PS, admittedly more on my PS as sadly my pc is aimed at work rather than games, but both were amazing experiences for me.

Now, if you excuse me, I will restart a character again. I have an Astarion to backstab.

Still has terrible and game breaking bugs. Missions get stuck with enemy reinforcements not arriving, which I believe happens when you overwatch for them and manage to kill all reinforcements in one wave before they arrive.

My last game got broken because story mission did not spawn, wasting so many hours. Do not buy before these and other bugs are fixed.

Fun game though, when it works.
