I would recommend this game, but not the Ubisoft remaster. They're charging 50% more than GOG.com. You can get the complete edition from GOG and then download the baratorch HD+ addon which also includes multiplayer lobbies. I highly recommend checking out the r/heroes3 subreddit and the Heroes 3 lazynet wiki for more information.

There is a very active fanbase for this game, and Ubisoft is doing nothing to win us over.

I do recommend this game, just not here. Find a source with all the DLC, like GoG and apply an HD update patch. It's easy and will give you the far better experience with all the maps, campaigns and everything one would expect from this game. Hell, Ubisoft, I doubt you're listening, but I'd even pay for the DLC separately. Just chuck it on here in some way and it'll sell. If you want to be good to the customers you've been burning and rub some ointment on the wounds though, you could toss those in for free and get a lot less hate... for a little bit at least.
