I do recommend this game, but buy it when its on sale. Its really good but not worth full price because it lacks content and is inconsistent with game mechanics from RE2R.

I have never played the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis myself so I can't compare RE3R to it through experience. However, I can compare it to RE2R. In comparison to RE2R, RE3R was shorter and after a while it felt more linear than about exploring. With how short it is they could have just made it into a DLC for RE2R. there were scenes in the game I had no control over with mini quick time events implanted here and there. The puzzles were short and easy. The zombie appendages would explode instead of falling off. Zombies don't rag doll when they die and In certain parts of the game, zombies would explode into blood entirely when killed? Grenades and the knife cannot be used to prevent a zombie from biting you, Instead I had to mash the A button on my Xbox controller to brace for a zombie bite. The Hunter and Licker AI's are buggy at times. Instead of following me through a door like they are supposed to, they instead run back to a certain spot giving me an opening to slightly walk through the door, fire at them, and close the door before they have a chance to respond and then repeat. I remember Lickers couldn't walk through doors in RE2R, but its dumb that this game didn't do anything to improve upon that. Nemesis stopped being scary when he mutated into what I can only describe as his dog form. Still thrilling, just not scary. Boss fights with Nemesis also become predictable halfway through the first play through and feel cheap in favor of the player. How Mr.X stalks you through the police station, and William Birkin in all his G stages in RE2R still scare me more than Nemesis even with infinite ammo weapons.

Despite all the cons I have, I do really like this game. The story, voice acting and personalities of the characters, character/enemy/weapon/level designs and attention to detail, all of it is phenomenal. The new game play mechanic of being able to dodge as Jill and elbow/punch enemies as Carlos is a game changer. Carlos is my personal favorite and I really enjoyed the segments I got to play as him. Playing as Jill was also super dope. She absolutely lives up the iconic protagonist I remember her being in the other Resident Evil titles. Nicholai is a true wealth driven mercenary who has some of the best lines in the game. I only wish I could have played as these characters longer in a more drawn out game. The in-game store gives incentive to replay the game multiple times. The mods I grabbed from the Nexus community can make the game comedic. I was able to replace Carlos with Nicholai, Put Jill in a leopard bikini, and turn Nemesis into Thomas the Tank Engine.

Again I do recommend buying and playing it, just not for full price.
