Je to pořád výborný díl série dark souls, především pro plynulejší hraní na počítači a v rámci coop hraní s přáteli (engraved ring, celkově summonování je řešeno jinak), vypadá skvěle, výborně optimalizováno. Z jedničky jsem přec měl lepší (a temnější) pocit, ovšem její špatně řešený port a online hraní staví obě tyto hry na stejnou kvalitní úroveň. Díky portům skrze bonfiry se dá velice snadno ke hře sednout a zase odejít, na druhou stranu hra působí z elkového hlediska dosti rozkouskovaně a lehce se vytrácí typický rpg pocit.

Výborná hra, která konečně skloubila přednosti předchozích her a eliminovala jejich nedostatky
Přináší jak staré a nostalgické postavy a předměty, tak kupu nových
Můžete si s kamarádem nastavit heslo a hrát spolu nehledě na vlastní level
Soubojový systém obohacen o tzv. weapon arts, tohoto prvku jsem se poměrně obával, nicméně je do hry implementován velice přirozeně, nenuceně a naopak rozšiřuje již tak dokonalé boje
Nyní též místo klasických životů a staminy také přidán FP, což je v podstatě mana systém
