Dungeons 4 brings more of the familiar self-deprecating humor the series has become known for.
Several changes to the UI from Dungeons 3 have been made and might be somewhat off-putting at first.
The main game includes 20 campaign maps and a bunch of skirmish maps.
I love the soundtrack for this game and that is not something I have ever said about any other game.

I enjoyed the game enough that I also purchased the 2 DLCs for it.

Good, Bad, Evil: A fun western themed campaign against the Dwarf Queen and her minions

Not Another Multiverse: 3 levels of hellish gameplay in an unfamiliar universe. I honestly did not enjoy this DLC very much and struggled to get through the maps. I would say I was disappointed in only having 3 levels, but I was happy to be done with it.

I am writing this review as I play through Dungeon Keeper 2 after many years away from it and just after replaying Dungeon Keeper to completion. I will update as needed while I progress through the game.

I switched my review to Thumbs Down after 7 total hours of slogging through the game.

The animated videos are humorous and the graphics overall are far improved from the original Dungeon Keeper. In addition, the evil narrator explains a bit about each type of creature and trap which is helpful.

While I do sometimes enjoy taking control of a creature through possession, I feel like DK2 forces it upon the player far too much with first person mob kiting and terrain exploits being heavily rewarded.

I feel like the player is forced to focus too closely on the action as fully zoomed out still seems far too close and I really dislike the way "Fog of War" is rendered in this game and the manner in which the terrain updates in creature control mode.

The first time you will honestly be allowed to create a dungeon occurs around 10 levels into the game which is a lot of slogging through unpleasant maps just to begin playing the game as intended.

The game that introduced us all to being an evil dungeon lord!
While some improvements have been made in the genre, the overall ambiance of the original Dungeon Keeper is unmatched.

Dungeons 2 takes a turn from the gameplay of Dungeons and Dungeons: The Dark Lord to be a bit more like Dungeon Keeper with a twist. The narration is greatly improved and the humor is..........humorous.

I quickly fell in love with the quirky take on being an evildoer.

I bought this game with all the DLC and also really enjoyed the Game of Winter expansion. The other DLCs were a bit of a let down as they only appear to be skirmish maps without actual stories and narration. More maps and different enemies are still worthwhile though.

While Dungeons: The Dark Lord continues the concepts of prestige and dungeon crafting from the first Dungeons, several changes were made to the campaign mode and game mechanics that I do not like at all and which ultimately led to my abandonment of the game.

That said, having played this game most of the way through, I can now see how the further evolution of the game that occurred in dungeons 2 and 3 came about.

I love the different take on Dungeon Crafting that is presented in Dungeons. The idea of luring the heroes in, making them as happy as possible, and then sucking the soul energy from them as they die is truly diabolical and befitting of the genre. Years prior to purchasing this bundle, I bought Dungeons on CD and decided to get the bundle for all the added content that I do not have.

My only criticism of the game is that the initial tutorial level didn't seem to clearly explain the goals for completion and I found myself clicking all over the place trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. It is possible I just missed something, but since I already had a pretty good idea what was up I figured it out eventually.

Kenshi brings back a lot of the adventure and sense of discovery that has become hard to find in modern games. On the other hand, Kenshi does well in sharing game tips as needed so that players aren't completely lost for long.
There are a lot of rough elements to the game, but I believe there are mods to improve on those areas. I am currently playing the vanilla game and have not looked into those mods too deeply, but from what I have seen, I am going to have many hundreds of hours of fun with this game!

Not for everyone

I picked up this game looking for a fun pirate experience and the game delivers some of that, but with caveats. I feel like this game could be great for everyone but it seems to be getting held back by the limitations that have been arbitrarily placed on gameplay. If Safer Seas offered the same rewards and ship career as High Seas without PVP I would switch to thumbs waay up! Bonuses If I could run my own server or LAN connection for that.

IF you REALLY enjoy PVP, you're probably going to LOVE this game.

IF you like games that are more than a quick deathmatch with a hint of adventure, you're probably going to HATE this game.

Safer Seas offers a PVP free experience, but without any kind of meaningful content and significantly reduced rewards.
Tall Tales might be fun, but without a save option, it looks like you have to start over from the beginning if you don't finish the quest in a single session.

My wife and I tried to refund after giving the game a significant chance, but that was too long for the refund process.

Imagine the Elder Scrolls and Fallout combined in space, and you have Starfield. An entertaining RPG set in a futuristic galaxy of adventure and mayhem!

I enjoy the game immensely and even at 441 hours of play time, I keep finding new things in the game.

Good: Lots of characters and rpg elements to interact with. Plus, spaceship crafting, combat, etc.

Bad: The game is definitely not a space/combat simulator or even a spaceflight exploration.

Ugly: Bugs in major quest interactions, bugged creatures/environments, bugs bugs bugs

I absolutely do not like the direction this game took. I made it through the tutorial mission and quit because I was not enjoying the new format or the cartoon cut scenes.
