If you're unsure if you want to play the game because of the way the game plays, I would recommend playing it anyways if you are interested in a good narrative. I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to play this game because the game play seemed average, but decided to play after seeing it won "Best Narrative" during the Game Awards. And after finishing it I can say that I still think the game play was average, but it was done well. The story and humor outweighed my opinion on the game play making it a very enjoyable game, which in my opinion goes to show that the mechanics/game play of a game aren't everything when it comes to making a good game if the story is really well written.

The game is pretty great and has some great music, but nothing can beat Nier Automata's soundtrack. I thought the combat was kinda wonky at first in comparison to the Dark Souls games, but when i got used to it, it got pretty nice. The game for some reason is insanely addictive making it one of the games that i want to get every achievement for, which tends to be pretty rare for me. It is also a very visually pleasing game to me, which I wanna thank the anime studio Ufotable for part of that.

As for the story, I can see why people would say it kinda sucks, but I found it very enjoyable and it kept me interested. I loved the challenge of the game and will agree its easy in some parts, but hard as hell at some points, one boss specifically almost made me lose my sanity, but left me wanting a little more in terms of challenge and content after finishing the game. I also love the characters in the game and their backstories that you can learn from their memories that you collect.

I would recommend this game to anyone that likes this style of gameplay, even if people like the Dark Souls gameplay more.

I also hope they release some really good story content as well for this game in the DLC's as well as another game if it's planned.

Game has gotten way better since launch. I appreciate space battles and the implementation of multiplayer into the game.

Early Access Review
I played the alpha for a few hours and I personally thought the game was great, but there was a lot of balancing issues particularly the scavengers being too good and the hunter being okay. Then there is the "Early Access" release, BLOODHARVEST. I bought the game seeing that it went on sale and it came back onto my radar so I decided to buy it and play it again, but with friends this time. After about 2.5 hours of play time my current stance is that I understand that the Hunter is supposed to feel dominate and without a doubt be able to kill everyone, but I think that the hunter has a little too much dominance in the hands of a player who has a very good grasp on the games mechanics and can aim. But the Scavengers can win if the Hunter is in the hands of a new player, or a player that can aim but hasn't fully gotten the mechanics of the game. I think the game is Great to play, especially with friends, but I think that the Scavengers should at least have some sort of way to stun the Hunter to be able to save teammates who get downed by the Hunter. Because currently once the Hunter downs a Scavenger there is no way to prevent a Hunter from executing the Scavenger making the game (IMO) too easy for the Hunter. I am probably missing some sort of hidden trick to save downed Scavengers from execution, but that is my only negative with the games mechanics.

I always like to compare this game to CSGO in terms of the games objectives and strategy. CSGO is very different to this game, is what people would say to me after saying that they are similar, which i would mostly agree on. But in terms of risk and reward situations I think this game wins by a land slide. Some people may think the player progression of this game may be a little slow, because of how much it costs to get a new operator, but I think the progression of this game compared to many other games almost hits progression spot on. The choice to do a day(s) worth of grinding to get a operator is very nice and the other choice to spend $5 to get one operator, or more $ to get more operators is a good way to give players a freedom of choice in whether or not they are willing/ not willing to spend time in this game just to get something you want. Ubisoft always tries their best to release updates that make the game fun and fair to everyone, which is something I applaude to them for doing. The matchmaking may be dumb at some points in casual, for example pairing golds or lower with high plats and diamonds making the game not very fun for the lower ranks because the high ranks are tryharding their a**es off against people who are not very close to being as skilled as them (I say this because often personal experience). But even when this stuff happens I find the game to be a lot of fun to play with friends especially when you get that rare game when both teams are on equal terms of skill making a very competitive game a fun one, because they aren't "BM'ing" each other. But all in all this game is very highly reccommended by me and I kind of hope to see one day the statement that Ubisoft made saying, "We plan on having 100+ playable operators" come true.

Every time I get into the game and start playing I end up getting into it so much that I play for hours on end. For the longest time I never realized how much there is to do in this game, but somewhat recently I decided not to fast travel to a specific location and to just run down the roads of Skyrim to the location. While running down the roads I discovered many different locations I had never seen before in videos or anything and also discovered a few side quests that I actually thought were pretty fun to do. So all in all this game is fun to play even after you get bored of it then return later, and to even play for the first time.

I liked reading/playing the game. It had a good story, but I thought it was going to be 30-60 minutes long. So when I had finished it I luahged because how short it was when I thought it would be longer.

Despite what people said about this game before this version came out I decided to give this Nether a shot. I have enjoyed the game so far, besides the fact sometimes I cannot hear the sounds of the Nether and so one will come up behind me when im on low health and kill me. But after I actually started getting good items I found this game to be very enjoyable.

I really liked this game for its story and how the fighting system worked on it. But playing the final boss on hard for ending 3 was a pain in the a** for me to complete but in the end I was satisfied with this game. I hope to see more games like this one in the future.
