Hunt showdown if it was a single player game.

The game is divided into multiple chapters, each being their own open world map filled with detail. Every chapter feels different, with different objectives in a different setting. The gameplay is responsive and clear, with audio design that manages to sell the atmosphere and the power of your actions.

Made with passion and it shows

Seems simple at first, but has a rather surprising depth to it. It is the most fun when you create a tactical plan with your team, but it goes awry and you have to solve it on the spot. The worst missions turn out to be the best experience!

Do recommend

Wow...

Never have I seen a game exploit the game medium this well for story telling. Often you find games imitating its cinema brother by providing dialogue, cut-scenes and scripted linear events. This game pulls something off you cannot approximate in any other medium.

I am blown away.

This game has an atmosphere I have not been able to find anywhere else. Everything looks so bright and vibrant yet the game's world is portrayed as not reflecting that brightness under the surface. This atmosphere is not only thanks to the lighting and colour placement, but also the fantastic soundtrack by Solar Fields.

The game completely is all focused on movement, keeping combat to a minimum. It flows, they pulled it of. The linearity aids the experience as the player's path is more thought out and tuned to have a good presentation sequence that may not always be possible in open world, which is something the second game attempts.
I recommend you give this a try!

A looter shooter where 90% of the loot will never be considered due to an abundance of legendaries being dropped. Do you remember in BL1 or BL2, finding a new gun that you compared to another gun with slight improvement? Continuously being forced to swap your guns with new ones, it being not uncommon for an uncommon drop to phase out a rare drop? That feeling has gone, now you will only be comparing legendaries with legendaries. It likely has to do with the new mechanic of annointments, that provide guns with special effects. Some are better than others, thus the drop rate is increased such that you can farm for specific annoinments on legendaries. However, this completely removes the surprise and joy of finding a legendary drop, forget the continuous comparisons of drop from other rarities. Perhaps worse is that chests nowhere near drop good loot as often as enemies. Finding a chest is no longer a surprise with anticipation.

Apart from the looter element being warped, the game is not difficult, even on the hardest setting you can set it (Mayhem 10). Instead of making mechanically difficult bosses, they are made 'harder' by padding health to such ridiculous amounts that you will not have enough ammo to kill the boss while strafing to the side for 15 minutes.

More is not better by definition

You'd never expect the top RPM machinegun to be among the most competative long range weapons.

A great example on how a local coop game should be. I heavily recommend playing with a total of 3 players. While it may not seem balanced for an odd number of players, I find that it requires teamwork far more as the tasks can no longer be divided properly, requiring players to keep on adjusting plans and activity. That is what makes a good coop game great.

Racer that has a good arcade feel, exactly as it is aiming for. While catch-up assist may not be great, ending a good race feels good nonetheless.

CHECKBALL!
