Still one of the most disappointing arcade racing releases of the last few years.

Hotshot Racing almost has it all. The visual style is fantastic, the controls are amazing and the overall vibes are great. However it's just so horrific when actually racing. The AI constantly bombards you with collisions, and the constant feeling of racing in a suffocating pack with the yo-yo of 'in-front, behind, in-front, BANG, behind, in-front, BANG' is legitimately DRAINING.

Never have I played an arcade racer where the AI model is so entirely mis-matched. This is kart-racing AI in an arcade racer, and it feels wrong.

I'll re-install this to play time-trial mode every now and then, and I've actually got most of my play-time on the Switch version, but yeah, I just felt like making it known that Hotshot Racing and the oodles of pre-release promise it had that has been entirely left unfulfilled still bums me out.

This could have been an absolute classic, man.

Its a fun racer for the most part. Good controls and I like the visual style. It doesn't seem possible to get very far ahead of the competition though. The game will not let you get good enough to greatly leave the AI in the dust. Its only $2 on sale and its worth that.
