Sniper Ghost Warrior has a lot of potential but it's little too buggy at the moment and the performance is a little off too.

When zooming in the FPS will practically freeze as the game attempts to load distant objects/scenery and whilst maneuvering the FPS has a tendency to fluctuate uncontrollably.

I’ve had issues with getting stuck in the scenery when attempting to climb walls and the drone has caused my weapons to disable.

But it’s not all negative, the open world with the ability to approach missions as you see fit after reconnaissance along with looting, interrogating and a higher/more realistic difficulty make for a rather enjoyable game.

I would really like to see a second open Beta so I can see if the issues are corrected and only then would I consider purchasing this game.

If you can try it then I would certainly recommend it to see for yourself but I wouldn’t recommend picking the game up just yet even with the rather generous pre-order deal.

Could be great but it’s up to the devs to make that final push.

Tested on,

Asus Strix GTX 1080 OC Edition

I7 5820K

1440p G-Sync

Max settings 50-80 FPS

Recommended for potential and because it's a BETA, I don't think it's fair to write this off just yet.

A classic Resident Evil remade for Gamecube and remastered for PC, just as awesome now as it was back in the early 00's and 90's.

Resident Evil HD has all the jumps and scares with a few extra surprises for those who have only played the original and anyone returning from the Gamcube version will get more or less the same epic game but with improved visuals and effects. A true "Suvival Horror" with Puzzles, a Resident Evil game where ammo and saves are limited and running is sometimes better than fighting, unlike the action games the series has become.

The enviroments are stunningly detailed thanks to the still camera veiws, you're essentially running around a gorgeous portrait. New lighting effects have been added and when combined with the new HD textures of the characters and enemies the game really shines.

Music is perfectly implemented (Saveroom relief) and the sounds of thunder in addition to the groans and moans of the dead (amongst other things) are as jumpy and disturbing as ever.

There is so much I want to mention here, the numerous monsters, weapons and scares but I really don't want to spoil any of the surprises but what I will say is expect the unexpected ..... anyone remember the hounds?

Also the map is incredibly handy, any rooms that still have items in it will be highlighted in red and cleared rooms are blue so this should save you a lot of trouble should you find yourself stuck and wondering where to investigate next.

A choice of new or old style controls (I still prefer the tank method) with 60, varible or 30 FPS locks and runs maxed out easily on my laptop ( I7 4710MQ, GTX 860M, 8 RAM ) so I know my gaming rig will have no troubles what so ever.

Hopefully Resident Evil 0 receives the same treatment (rumoured) and a remake/port of Resident Evil 2 and 3 would be great so heres hoping.

If you've already played the Gamecube version then this Resident Evil is a 9/10 however ... if you're only played the PSX version or never even played Resident Evil ..... 10/10.

If you're after a genuine survival horror that involves more horror and thought rather than trigger action then this is game for you, easily the best Resident Evil within the series.

Pros

• "True" survival horror.

• Beautiful enviroments.

• Tense, atmosphereic.. perfect

Cons

• Too hard for some?

Finally a top tip for everyone .... should you meet the wailing women in chains ..... run .... NO REALLY .... RUN!!!

Introduction

Wasteland 2 has been Early Access for some time now and those of you who remember the awesome Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics, I can confidently say that this is the true successor unlike Fallout 3 which was Elder Scrolls Oblivion with guns.

Graphics

The first thing classic Fallout veterans will notice is the transition from 2D to 3D and it’s great to finally explore the Post Apocalyptic world and watch all the action from any angle you choose. The world itself is suitably detailed and the animations are great and more than adequate for the job. Although there are games with better graphics, Wastelands 2 is all about the gameplay which I’ll cover later in more detail.

Sound/Music

Voice acting is great and the music fits nicely with the theme. Sound effects including weapon effects, enemies during encounters and items are again more than suitable.

So far so good but this game is £39.99 in Early Access and it seems to be okay so far .... so why would anyone pay such a large amount of money for a game that’s not yet complete?

Gameplay

This is where Wasteland 2 more than earns the right for such a high retail price. When you first start the game you have the choice to create your team (highly recommended) and the list of abilities that your character can develop in are great,

Barter, Pistol, Shotgun, First-Aid, Heavy Weapons, Surgeon, Weapon Smithing, Toaster Repair, Melee, Blunt Weapons, Safe Cracking, Alarm Disarming and more. All of which require skill points to master that are awarded upon levelling up.

Characters can be equipped with 2 weapons, primary and a secondary (Sniper Rifle and a Pistol side arm for example) and be fitted it with various Armour and Trinkets (Literally thousands of combinations). There are over 150 Weapons in the game and the fire-arms can also be modified with the use of weapon smithing to increase accuracy or decrease the chances of stoppages.

The Wasteland world has lots to interact with too (Objects highlighted in Green), even more points of interest to add to the immersion (Objects highlighted in Brown) and how you interact is up to you, use a lock pick to open the door or a rocket launcher the choice is always yours.

The desolate world is also filled with NPC’s and some are offering lots of information via an interesting chat system (certain words will be highlighted and added to your vocabulary to enquire about as the conversation proceeds).

Wasteland 2 is also full of decisions and consequences, some are small like attempting to pick a lock early on with low skill level can destroy the lock forever to much bigger decisions that will decide the fate of entire towns and NPC’s, who you decide to save or let die is up to you but you’ll inevitably have to face the consequences later on.

Now onto Enemy encounters, this is probably my favourite part as I’m a big fan of tactical combat. Once you encounter Enemies the game will switch from free roaming to turn-based where you’ll have a set number of AP (Action Points ) to use on movement, crouching, reloading, unjamming weapons, single round shots and burst fire.

Different weapons have a different effects too, Shotguns have a wider spread to hit multiple enemies whilst Sniper Rifles will have the ability to penetrate and hit another enemy in depth, killing two with one round and let’s not forget the animations, lots of gore and I was able to blow one guy clean in half with a Shotgun and watch him crawl around on his hands.

I’ll be honest in saying that I’m only about 7/8 hours into the game so far but it’s got me hooked which is a rarity as I tend to bounce back and forth from game to game (I even annoy myself sometimes), the game is also not without bugs (the odd graphical glitch) and some of the voice acting is still to be added but that’s Early Access for you.

Pros so far

1 True successor to fallout 2

2 Character customization

3 Game altering decisions

4 Great turn based combat

Cons so far

The usual bugs normally found in early Access

Conclusion

Fantastic game but is it worth £39.99........ If like me you loved Fallout 2 then definitely, it’s the sequel I’ve been waiting years for, luckily for me I picked it up during the Steam Sale for around £25 which I’m more than happy about, feel free to comment and I hope you enjoyed my review.

Score so far

9/10
