Hold the line but find out that walls needed to be thicker/more enemies than you expected/forgot to block that one spot simulator.

Prepare to die… a lot.

I got this game on a whim and wasn’t expecting much from it to be completely honest. It was getting high user reviews so I though why not... it is one of the best story and choice based games in my collection. The entire game is about growing up, choices and consequences, and how things can play out down the line. I whole heartedly recommend this game.

Very very very short... but also one of the best Star War's games out there... and one of the best tactical shooters.

Great gameplay, good graphics, great story, great voice acting, and all around great time.

That's the simple version, here's the more complex one.

The gameplay is fluid and a lot like the other witcher games with a bit more responsiveness. There are very few times where I felt Geralt wasn't doing what I wanted him too, but it was more user error than anything else. The world is very dangerous, especially on the harder difficulty levels, you have to prepare and plan and know what kind of character you are playing. Also, being able to jump is shockingly nice.

The graphics look the same as The Witcher 2 on top settings. Some people may scoff at that, but lets be honest, the entire OPEN WORLD looks like the very small closed world of the second game. Mess around with the settings and you may be able to make it look even better on your computer, who needs motion blur?

The story is a much simpler than the other games, The Witcher 2's story is still my favorite, but I enjoyed the politics and such. That being said, this is a great story about good and evil and the people we love... and how far we will go for them. Not as many dialog options as I would like, but what it has, which is quite a bit, is awesome.

The voice acting is solid, not a fan of the new Triss voice, but that’s because I got used to the old one. Everyone did a great job with their roles and there wasn’t a single scene where i thought otherwise.

Music was great.... seriously, I have nothing else to say about it, I loved it.

It's a huge time sink, but if you want something that has raised the bar... well, here it is. This game set’s a very high bar for their next project… but I think they can more than handle it.

Also, side note. They have a actually expansion pack, not a sort few hour DLC thing, but an actual old school additional campaign coming out… that when totaled will be about 40 hours… for only $30… think about that.

My thoughts on the DLC:
It is DLC, little crap stuff that adds a little here and there, nothing too impresive, but all of it is good. I enjoyed it, a few extra quests, charcater skins, and I loved the Wolf Armor, and the New Game+ is awesome.

Hearts of Stone:
Whoa... Much better than I thought it was going to be, it was so awesome. Great story, great music, great... everything.

Blood and Wine:
I quite enjoyed our favorit Witcher's last story, all around a soild entry in the series. That being said, I enjoyed Hearts of Stone much more, found it more interesting.

Early Access Review
Review thus far:
Simply put, it is Killing Floor but with better everything. It’s still a solid game, simple, but perfected. A lot of potential and I’m hoping to see a lot more as the Beta moves forward, thus far, I enjoy it.

An interesting note, a few days before KF2 came out I was looking at Evolve, it had about 2100 people playing, KF1 had 3200.

I got this game for free and I want my money back. This was the first sniper game I played and I didnt like it, sorry but I'm in WWII to shoot Nazi's, not have some pre-Cold War BS.

All right, so This War of Mine is really good, but has some issues that keep it from being great.

The Pros:
This the first game I have ever played that give you a realistic look at surviving in a war zone and the things you may have to do to survive. It is brutal, unfair but balanced in strange way. You spend day working around you shelter, using things you found during the night or traded for to make things to trade or upgrade your home. You want to be able to make booze, a major trade item, so water and a distillery are two biggies, with beds up there as well. Also being able to make crowbars, lock picks, and saws are major important, so get a tool bench asap. During the night, you put people on guard, sleep, or scavenge. You have to balance the needs of everyone, and I found that my people would spend most of the day sleeping, doing a few small odd jobs first things, and the night on guard duty, with the exception of sick or hurt people who got more sleep. Its scary to be sneaking around a war zone, seeing the bombed out ruins of a city, as you try to survive. There are other survivors out there, some civilians, others military, and some will attack you on the spot, or if you go in their stuff, or they will leave you alone.

The Cons:
You can only send out one scavenger a night, which sucks, and I don't like. I'm sorry, but if I have three or four survivors I would send out two to get stuff and make survival easier, risk vs reward. If i get raided and they kill the one peoson left behind, then thats the price I pay. The game is also very slow during the day, not much happens, and there doesn't appear to be a way to fast forward other than skipping to the night, however if you do that then you may miss a afternoon visitor, person selling something or someone who needs help (the later never game me anything for the help which seemed a bit odd, but I was ok with that, made sense).

All in All:
I like the game, but it's slow and not for everyone. That being said, this was a war game that we needed, show the other side of the excited blow everything up action. This is what happens to the people and what is left behind when the military rolls through.

ALPHA REVIEW

OK... so I know some people are not going to want to hear this, but this is my opnion...

I love the concept but I don't really see a long term life to this game and it doesn't feel like it's worth $60 to start.

Playing as the hunters and alien are fun, but wears thin fast. As far as I know there are three levels, so replayablility is limited, but even with more I don't think it will add much. I know there is planned DLC, but if this is what they are selling at launch I can't say get it.

That being said, the ideas of the game are awesome, jumping into a level, cool, and figting feels awesome. It goes from hunters better, even, to monster better, but at the same time still feels balanced all the way through. Play smart, harder for the hunters (have to know when to run), and you'll be fine. The systems are solid, hunter tracking and fighting is fun, monster hunting and fighting is awesome, you may be bigger and stronger (hopefully) but you won't win in a few hits. What will add some life to the game is that no two matches play the same, being that everyone in human controled.

All that being said, it comes down to the fact that I just don't feel like the content meets the price value, do not buy at launch... I need to see more to the game before I recommend.

Ok, so this is painful for me, but it needs to be said. I got this game in early access, thinking it would be awesome. I didn't just throw money at it, I read everything they wanted to put in, watched a few videos, and then got it to help support the game... and now I don't think I'm going to do early access again.

DF-9 is a basic space station building game that doesn't have any long lasting gameplay. It looks great, it sounds great, it has the base to be great, but as of this review they have stated that Double Fine will not be doing any further updates. That simple statement moves the game from something that can be great to being mediocre at best. If this changes I will take another look at change my review, but as of now, don’t get it, not worth it.
