The gameplay feels clunky and alot of the actions that the game has you partake in feel meaningless,
The idea is cool, the graphics cooler, but the trailer is made to make it look like a movie, and as a movie
this would have been better...

Overall, a failure of implementation, not of imagination...

At its essence, this game is a logistics management game that incorporates
grid placement efficiencies, trade routes, demand/supply, and monopolies
over resources.
It does it's job to scratch the managing itch,
but the pacing of it is a little ...... breakneck.
resulting in stressful scenarios that don't get resolved in a fun & constructive way.

Still though the graphics are beautiful, game progression - satisfying,
and the world is well-thought out.

March 30, 2024 -- "Reads Recent Reviews for Starfield:" -- "MIXED" , how is it mixed when it is 42% ??? That is "MOSTLY NEGATIVE" not "MIXED" !!!

I love Bethesda, I really do. It was the one game studio that I always upheld as the golden standard. It was the the one game studio whose games never disappointed. But along came Starfield, and ruined that record. This game used the same marketing strategy as CyberPunk did -- Overpromise, Overpromise, Overpromise. Make it flashy, get some big names behind you and Sell, Sell, Sell... I watched a friend play this and heard the complaints, I watched Twitch and heard the complaints. But noooooo, I just had to go and think for myself, go and see for myself... what a waste of money that turned out to be ....

Steam if something is under 50% on reviews it's not "MIXED" it is "MOSTLY NEGATIVE", stop kowtowing to the big studios.
You get credit where you deserve it, you get criticism the same way.

(Note: I can't give this below a 3, because the graphics are beautiful, but it is a failed vision, not only in scope but in implementation so it deserves no more than 3).

You're plowing thru the forming ice in the frigid Arctic sea with your long and true Narwhal tusk... The iceburg's reflect the morning sun, dazzling you. Suddenly you feel a subtle sexual innuendo on your soft unprotected underbelly - someone has pierced your heart with a big, stronk tusk of their own!

Welcome to Starwhal (except its in space, unlike the scenery I painted...)

The humor in this title is it's own special kind of derpy. The controls are just unresponsive enough to be hilarious in and of themselves. And when you master the tail flip... oh man - it gets dirty!!!

Something about this game drew me in, but I can't quite place my finger on whether its: the calm, pleasing music, sense of progression through the well thought out shop and town improvements, or the engaging combat. Moonlighter seems to be a gem in the rough, I write "in the rough" because the dialogue is stale, I would prefer combat to be 8-directional instead of just x,y directions, and because the gameplay does seem to be a little simplistic with so-so AI and lackluster models... Despite these shortcomings, Moonlighter does pull at my heartstrings. I would very much like to see a REDUX version of the game. The developers started to put some heart and soul into this game...now please finish it!!!

This is an interesting rogue-like, quite unique from what you typically associate with that genre. I enjoy the strategy of it, and the upgrade system feels rightly balanced and is satisfying to mess around with.
P.S. - (The Pause Button is indispensible).

For those of you who would like to learn a little about how the cars you are driving are put together... This is pretty helpful. I wouldnt call it necessarily a teaching tool, but more of an introductory course into car mechanics.

As a game, I actually really like the leveling system, it gives you meaningful choice, the results of which you can feel tangibly. In many rpg's for example, leveling +2% crit chance, or something of that nature, is barely noticeable during the actual game play, and just seems very ungratifying.
Here, however, a +50% in screwing ;) or examining parts, or such is very noticeable.

The mod community is what makes this game amazing however. Just go and check out the number of custom cars (interior and exterior) that had been made for this game! Its an astonishing display of loyalty to this game.

I also really like the Junkyard and Auction mechanics (no pun intended), as both are well thought of mini-games, imbedded in an already satisfying simulator.

I don't have a lot of gripes about this game, however: the driving portion of this game is pretty horrendous.

From a marketing perspective: There is no game on the market that combines what CM18 does with an actual legit Racing Sim. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to find a car in a junkyard, piece it together in your own customizable mechanics shop (like in this game), and then go race it in a high-quality racing sim? That's potentially a Billion-dollar game idea right there. You're Welcome.
