Nobody is going to read this because I'm writing an English review for a Chinese port cause I bought it by mistake, but the game is obviously great and a very solid next installment. It's probably not better than 8, but might even be the second best in the franchise.

In the current state the game is bad. I don't understand why so many people are giving it positive reviews.

The difficulty curve of this game is completely botched. It offers no challenge at all throughout the first 25-30 minutes, and then very quickly ramps it up to the point where you die very quickly.

The game has a fairly complicated and robust progression system, which makes you very slowly incrementally stronger to be able to tackle that 30+minute mark of the game round, basically adding a couple minutes to the playthrough every single time.

There's no reason to be playing this considering how many bullet hell / survivors-likes are there on offer.

So far after about 1,5h in it feels very one-dimensional. The powerups aren't very tangible and are all fairly basic in concept (move faster, set on fire quicker, more hp). Sure it's cheap but there are plenty of other cheap games in the genres of survivors-likes and bullet-hell that are much better.

The beginning of the game felt great. It has interesting exploration, mostly balanced difficulty level and some interesting mechanics in enemies in bosses.

Unfortunately, from about half way point it started being more and more annoying. Like 6 out of 8 levels in the two final worlds are auto scrollers. Some of them are auto runners as well. The exploration is much less interesting and it's just rush rush until the end.

Also, the game has weird technical glitches where it resets your saves depending on how long your steam is open (it seems so, that's the only idea I have).

Overall it's a bad experience, though it had a decent start.

Definitely the best "survivor-like" in existence. Brilliant game, with crazy number of weapons and game modes. Absolutely love it.

This is another VS-type game (otherwise known as survivors-like). This one doesn't really iterate on the original idea in any interesting way and doesn't bring anything fresh to the table. There is some fun to be had if you played like 20 other, better and more popular games of this sort and got bored of all of them. Otherwise, play those other ones first.

Not very good sadly. It's a poor man's Steamworld Dig basically. Everything is inferior in some way and also it has these annoying punishing mechanics where you just have to keep returning to your base because you run out of your battery, or you run out of ladders, or whatever. Dying not only deletes all your mined materials, but also your equipment that allows you to move underground - which might technically mean it's possible to lock yourself out of progression completely.

If you love destruction and ticking off thousands of collectibles on a huge open world map this game is for you.

The idea of this game sounds good, but the gameplay really is lacking and has that cheap plastic feel to it. They tried to take VS or HoT and "improve" it with 3d graphics, but honestly I'd prefer a top down stylized graphics over this any day.

After having played this for quite some more time after the initial review I decided to change it to positive.

While the gameplay is not as good as in other games of this type (warriors / musou), the endgame progression is fairly satisfactory and offers some additional depth that isn't present during the initial story mode.

The game is very much built to offer this pseudo-cinematic experience during the story mode and only really introduces the interesting stuff later in the additional eclipse mode.

If you manage to grab it on sale you can have a decent amount of good time with it. If you can get through the beginning hours.
