By far one of the best games I have ever played, incredibly rich story and an vast array of choices to make that can impact the game so many ways. If you want a great Rpg that will hook you so hard you'll forget what color the sky is this game is for you, buy it! play it! you won't regret it!

Edit 1 : Some time has passed and I have revisited this game and I need to update my review to play it! It was fantastic, it still is fantastic.

This game is simply fantastic! Nothing like feeling like a badass while mowing down hordes of enemies to a spectacular soundtrack!

This truly is a labor of love by the developers and don't remember the last time a casual game was so much fun to the point where I lost track of time while playing it.
I more than recommend this game, if you want a relaxing and fun little game where your actions shape not only your character's future but also the future of those they interact with then play this game, you will love it.

I didn't expect much from this game when I first saw it but boy was I wrong!
This game is in one word "Fantastic" probably one of my favorite games of this year, it follows the formula of a Metroidvania / Souls-Like 2d game and it is fantastic, the controls are tight and responsive and the variety of enemies will keep you on your toes, every fight will give you a challenge and will leave you satisfied after you manage to beat it. There are multiple types of weapons and armor for you to find and collect over the course of the game and every type of weapon will have a different "glory kill" that will make you satisfied as you slay your foes. The story will provide you with a compelling tale of a rat's road from prince to king and hero of ratdom, although the rats do not speak the entire game is fantastically narrated by Doug Cockle the voice actor for none other than Geralt Of Rivia from the Witcher game series.
The only complaint that I have of this game is that there isn't more of it for me to play, I have loved every second that I have played of it and can't recommend it more.

Can I kill my son so he will stop having sex with my wife?
My daughter caught the plague so I married her off to my rival.
How can I kill my children?
I killed my old wife so I could marry someone younger and more fertile.
I captured the pope so I could eat him for dinner.

Dark Souls 2 is the least souls-like of the series, for some this will be a great negative but for other such as me it's a positive, Dark Souls 2 provides a fun albeit slower paced experience, the game focus on a slower and more meticulous pace on how to face each encounter resembling more of an RPG experience, the more RPG experience also gives us the best set of sorceries of the series having spells actually feel good, most builds can be fun in this entry of the series.
In the entire souls series Dark Souls 2 is my favorite entry into the series.

Seems like a truly cool rogue lite game with a western spin. Although this demo was a short one I did enjoy it very much. I`m really looking forward to the full release.
