Have you ever wondered what WASD actually stands for? Willing Against Solipsistic Despair. Some of us who play games tend to feel very alone. Some of us signed up as gamers so that we could feel that way. Me, I miss the simpler days when my best friends and I would stay up all night playing Super Nintendo games. Castlevania IV. Super Metroid. Mega Man X. You know? But those days ended. What can you do? Things change. Life moves forward.

I've been playing video games my entire life. I've only found 2 that really meant anything to me. 1) The Talos Principle. 2) Journey. I like Journey better, because even though it's every bit as pretentious as the former, I met and shared a few moments with a few real people. We didn't talk. What we did was more like dancing. Or maybe dreaming, I don't know. Listen to me, getting all purple and precious. Sorry.

I still think video games as a medium have a way to go before they achieve everything an art-form can do. I'll be here, alongside you, til we get there.

Forgive the dumb analogy. You may have noticed how this game tends to bring out the amateur poet in reviewers. I just miss my friends. You know?

Your journey review was quite something, a bit soppy but your sentiment got to me nonetheless

I also enjoyed your Journey review. I played Castlevania with one of my close buddies in TX. I moved away and lost contact with him, but I still have those great memories of staying up very late, drinking, and playing Castlevania. When I was six, Pong came out... that's how old I am. I come from an era of pre-internet, you had to go to a library to research your homework, and chatting meant being in the physical presence of someone. Those were the days when you were held accountable for anything that you said in public. Brick and mortar stores were everywhere; you knew the owners by name and their concern was customer service, not how you could rip people off to make a buck. I really miss those long gone days.

Thank you for being who you are. I feel if more people shared our views, remembering the fond past and letting it shape who you are in your future, instead of anxiously worrying about everything to come, the world might be a better place. Kudos!
