Early Access Review
Adding the mining mechanic to the survivor gameplay is interesting and sets this aside from the pack. Graphics are nice and the gameplay is smooth. I'm really enjoying this on the Steam Deck. If you like the Survivors-like genre, this is a no brainer.

NOT A DISASTER, BUT NOT GOOD. Look to The Division if you want looter shooter 3rd person. Look to Arkham or Spiderman if you want story focused comic action. Look to Guardians of the Galaxy if you want a superhero group action game.

Gunplay is mediocre, it does not feel like there is weight or impact to my actions. Melee is confusing and the shield system does not function with so many ranged enemies. They were going for a Doom Eternal system that focuses on direct engagement (rather than tactical cover hopping) but the requirement for melee to recover shields with so many snipers and long range shooters creates a frustrating gameplay loop.

Cutscenes and characters look amazing. The city is a bit bland and empty, but overall the graphics are really nice. There has not been alot of satisfying exploration in the world. Basically, if something stands out - it is likely tied directly to Riddler event or questline. The only work done within the city is for quest purposes, there is little to seek out or spend time exploring to find.

Loot only pops up at the END of a mission... weird. Missions are cut up into small chunks, which means gameplay is frequently interrupted by recap screens, 5 second unskippable loot rarity screens and stat dumps. Everytime I started to engage with the gameplay, I was presented with a new tutorial or mission complete screen.

Bland enemy types that are hard to read. I cant tell who has shields or elemental requirements just from looking, I have to wait until the 0 damage report pops up to know to change my tactics. Also, there seem to only be a few enemy types throughout the game, aside from the superhero bosses.

Overall, skip this if you are looking for story or an engaging looter shooter. Those are not here. I cannot speak to the Endgame content yet, however the outlook is not good (SUUUUUPER GRINDY by the looks of it).

Microtransactions as far as the eye can see. Reduced player rewards in favor of monetization at almost every turn.

Insert credit card details for the rest of this review.

Overwatch 1 was amazing, I spent nearly 400 hours there. Overwatch 2 feels much less rewarding overall. Hard pass.

Disjointed, nonsensical story - which is rough even for Destiny 2. The boring and basic looking level design and over reliance on multi-tiered engagements within 'no respawn' zones make the campaign a slog to wade through. This is very disappointing and seems at odds with the last expansion and the bombastic marketing leading into this campaign.

By the way, why does the game insist on throwing words like "radial mast" and "the Veil" at me with no explanation of what that is supposed to mean. Why am I doing any of this? There is no explanation at all.

UPDATE: Still chugs and hitches. But I have grown to love it. It'll be better one day... so it tells me.

I really want to give the game a good review based on my expectations, but this is a stuttery mess. I have died numerous times due to input delays related to extreme stutters in the open world. Also, about half the time when I launch the game it will freeze up on a white screen and not load in to the game.

I love the rest of From's games, but this is not ready for PC release. I was hoping that the delays meant issues like these were ironed out. I was wrong, I guess.

Cheap and weightless gameplay. Highly repetitive even for a brawler. Hulk feels shallow and weak, Captain America feels generic. The campaign is decent, but not worth the full price tag. Buy on deep sale, but only if you dont mind overly repetitive mechanics and unblockable cheap enemies.

A little rough around the edges, with some dated gameplay elements (timeline, obtuse objectives and a strange waypoint system). I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who likes Resident Evil games but hates the lack of ammo or weapons.

Basically a beat 'em up with light RPG elements and a dash of rogue-lite progression between deaths.

Also, its absurd. I wore a red leisure suit, high heels and a horse head mask for the better part of the game. 11/10 would recommend.

An hour or two in length, very trippy and easy to get turned around. If you like the weird atmospheric puzzles in the Witness, this is much less robust but still worth a look.

Again, very short and very... odd. I loved the visuals and the music. I have no idea what I actually did in the end.

6/10 would recommend on deep sale.
