As a long-time RPG enthusiast, I had high hopes for this game, especially after the exhilarating experience of Baldur's Gate 3. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.

Firstly, the writing leaves much to be desired. Compared to the rich character development and engaging dialogue of Baldur's Gate 3, the characters here feel flat and uninspired. Instead of unfolding their personalities through meaningful interactions and growth, they tend to bluntly tell you who they are. This lack of depth makes it hard to connect with them and detracts from the overall narrative.

While the combat system has its moments of fun, it ultimately falls short of what I expect from a true RPG. The gameplay often devolves into repetitive button-mashing rather than fostering strategic decision-making. I found myself wishing for a deeper impact from my character and party composition, but instead, it felt like the tactical elements were sidelined.

In a genre that thrives on immersive storytelling and complex mechanics, this game doesn’t quite measure up. It’s a missed opportunity to capture the magic of the classics that shaped my love for RPGs. If you’re looking for a game with robust writing and engaging tactical gameplay, you might want to look elsewhere.

As I can't give a neutral review, I give the game a thumbs down. I still think it's a decent enough game to sink some time, if purchased on discount.

After giving the game another chance I must admit that I was a heretic. For Super Earth!

A worthy successor!
After Ubisoft ruined the old The Settlers franchise I am more than happy that the brain behind the original titles made this gem of a game.

I got entangled in some linen wrap and scared the kids, would recommend!

32GB RAM
RTX 3080

Initially I experienced the same occasional crashes as described by other reviewers here, however Triumph Studios released a hotfix within mere hours after release and ever since I can play the game without any further problems.

The game itself is fun and enjoyable. The quick hotfix from the devs proofs that they are willing to take immediate action. So for now I leave a thumbs up, to counterbalance the negative reviews.

Better than the reviews want to make you believe.

Could it be better, obviously yes.

But here is the thing, it's an RTS in 2023. It is fun to play and at least for me didn't have any serious game breaking bugs. The sound is badly mixed up and the effects could be more cinematic. But in the end it is a well made RTS. It is also not a complete failure like DOW III.

Giving it a thumbs up as we need more RTS like this. Otherwise the genre will die.

Game has potential but I can't recommend it in the current EA version (1st October 2022).

Somewhere between D3 and PoE.

It's OK, but not what was promised. If you want a slightly worse GTA 5 with better graphics go ahead and purchase it. I'd recommend waiting for a discount though.
