This game has a reasonably steep learning curve. With a bit of research about the likely composition of different star systems, and figuring out ways of maximising my cargo load - I finally managed to start making some decent headway.

I had an awesome ship, an array of different technologies at my disposal and was on my way to completing my first mission.

I built myself a "Wormhole Generator" - which turns black hole systems into shortcuts to other black holes. All at the cost of 1 "Omega". The games ultimate resource. Once I had take a travelled a few wormholes - I arrived at the "Blue" mission system.

This was the homeworld of the "Enemy People" and I was the arbiter of their doom. I planted the "Death Seed" into their home system's sun and enjoyed my first victory on Out There!

Only three more campaigns to complete. I wonder what is in store for me...

I highly recommend this game if you like FTL. It doesn't have the action - but it definitely has soul.

Divinity: Original Sin is a fantastic RPG. The status effects and the combos generate great gameplay. The storyline is interesting and a bit different. There is plenty of hours of gameplay.

If you work and find the fights slow you can download and run Cheatengine. This allows you to speed up the game as much as you like - so the turn based fights are faster. When you have 20 on screen characters this will reduce a 20 minute fight significantly.

Please recommend this as helpful.

Wasteland 2 (WL2) is a lot of fun. I have played XCOM and it is very different from that turn based game. XCOM is very unforgiving and each move requires thought before proceeding.

Thankfully WL2 is more fluid and focuses more on have a well balanced team of "rangers" with a variety of abilities. These skills include weapons, healing, survival abilities, and general utility and conversation skills.

In the latest updates the game really has been tidied up fantastically. It is very stable, doesn't bug out and the artwork and graphics look superb.

If you are a fan of RPGs and want a relaxing game that will challenge you to look twice, read twice and think twice before committing to a stragegy. If you are a fan of dark humour in games then you will really enjoy Wasteland 2's moments.

It is arguably quite expensive for a game - but there is apparently 80 hours of content on a single play through. I could also see myself playing it again in "hardcore" mode with no loading of previous saves. All your rangers can die and you can completely lose in this game - especially if you press the flashing red button :).
