I really, REALLY want to leave a thumbs up here, but I can't for one very specific reason.

This one thing prevents me from recommending the game because it is the most lazy, thoughtless, moronic design of a boss I've ever seen in a game like this, and it's not optional, it's mandatory.

I'm the sort of gamer who 100% achievements games like MGR and Sekiro for fun and I can't stand this bloody boss.
Whoever playtested it and approved it needs to have their job position re-examined.

The challenge in this game grew on me. I try to not use profanity, but this game gives me Tourette Syndrom every time I get hit by an enemy.

Anyway, the game reminiscent to The Temple of Atzoatl in Path of Exile and Hades with a Mayan/Aztec theme, making it a unique roguelite experience.

I regret getting this. Iron Pineapple recommended it, so I picked it up despite my usual standards of aiming for overwhelmingly positive-rated games. As some other reviews have mentioned, it feels repetitive. I love roguelikes, but the music here isn't memorable, the environments are shrouded in darkness and not visually interesting, and there's a small variety of enemies. The metaprogression is thankfully not really holding you back from winning if you're good enough, but the game still felt stingy with its metaprogression currency, which means that it takes a long time for your weapon pool to have more variety. I also found some of the enemies to be ridiculously tanky, which kills the pace of the run. For example, I tried using the explosive barrels in the arena to take out some late-game enemies, and it only did a quarter of their health. It's just not very fun.
