Review:
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to rewrite history armed with an army of spreadsheets, Hearts of Iron IV is here to fulfill your dreams and crush your soul in equal measure.

In this grand strategy game, you’ll learn the true meaning of geopolitics: making questionable alliances, trying to produce tanks with a civilian economy, and crying when Hungary decides to leave your faction for no reason. The best part? You can turn Luxembourg into a global superpower if you have the patience of a saint and just the right number of fighter planes.

The AI is… let's say special. Watching Italy forget how to hold North Africa or the USA send its entire army to Greenland for "reasons" is part of the charm. And multiplayer? That’s where friendships go to die. Nothing says betrayal like your "ally" calling a faction meeting while secretly justifying a war goal against you.

Also, the mods are insane. Want to play as anime Germany? Check. Build the USSR as a capitalist utopia? Sure. Zombie apocalypse world conquest? Why not? Honestly, modders are the unsung heroes of HoI4, and sometimes I think they understand the game better than Paradox does.

But don’t get too confident. One minute you’re rolling into Moscow with your perfectly executed Blitzkrieg, the next minute your supply lines collapse and your soldiers are eating snow for sustenance. It’s a harsh lesson in logistics that your history teacher never warned you about.

So, if you enjoy sleepless nights, second-guessing every decision, and yelling at your screen because the AI just encircled your entire army, Hearts of Iron IV is the game for you. Just don't expect to "win"—only Stalin wins in HoI4.

10/10 would sell my soul to produce more rubber again.
