I think I will rate this game at a solid 7,5/10.

So what is good?
- Visually it looks amazing.
- The score and the sound design are top notch.
- The story is pretty good.
- I especially like the death animations, getting your head rammed into a wall again and again to the point where it's really disformed made dying quite interesting.

What could be better?
- It can get repetitive fairly easy. You constantly have to take long detours because the story just happens to inconvenience you at just the right time. This happens a lot in my opinion.
- There are less weapons in this game than in Dead Space (The Callisto Protocol is heavily inspired by Dead Space and directed by the same guy).
- Combat is not as diverse as in Dead Space. I think it's strange that even though these games are not referencing each other or are related to each other in any way story-wise, the gameplay has not been expanded with new features.

I get why people rate this game so badly, it should have had a few new things thrown into the mix, and it's disappointing that this didn't happen. This doesn't necessarily make it a bad game, and it's pretty good if you just look at it as it's own thing.

Early Access Review
I really really want to say I can recommend this game to everyone, but in its current state I would advise people to wait a bit longer. I gave this game a thumbs up because in my opinion this game holds great promise.

If I'm just speaking for myself, I think the game looks beautiful. Right now this is one of the main points which keeps me playing, but that's not a good thing. Sure, the animations could be smoother, but overall graphics are pretty nice. However, the UI is clunky, you aren't given a lot to go on, at least in the early stages of the game. I found myself wandering around town, picking up random items without even knowing what I could do with them. The nights are REALLY dark (duh, that's what happens during the night). However for a video game you shouldn't need cat's eyes to get around. When you run out of batteries to power your flashlight, make it harder to see, instead of impossible. I would also like to hear some background ambience, right now it's just really quiet.

These are some points about which I think improvements can easily be made. The atmosphere is certainly there, but right now it's a little rough around the edges.

I'm a huge Bethesda fan when it comes to The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, but I really can't recommend this game from Bethesda. First of all, because it just isn't what was advertised. I have played this game for 100+ hours, finished a good part of the story although not entirely. The story (except the extremely long prologue) was good for the most part, although it fails to keep me engaged. The "space exploration" just feels like an overcomplicated menu to me. There is nothing to explore, at least not freely. You just click the planet you want to go to, "warp" (which is just a loading screen), arrive at the planet and maybe shoot some bad guys. This was supposed to be Starfield's main thing. The gameplay on planets/ships/stations isn't anything new or innovative. It essentially boils down to using the same mechanics Bethesda has been using for 20+ years, throw a new coat of paint on and calling it a day. It all reeks of Fallout 4/Skyrim, gameplay-wise. It's just so lazy in my opinion.

Not recommending this game anymore due to the constant nerfs of weapons being pushed through by Arrowhead. It's disgusting that the fun is essentially being taken away more and more IN A PVE GAME. Also unlock restrictions to the 177 countries so that we can all dive together.

UPDATE 21-09-24:

Okay. Fine. They fixed it. The game is now back to the way I and almost every other Helldiver wants it to be, maybe even beyond that. But I don't hope that me changing this to recommended (again) will make Arrowhead do whatever they want again. They have to listen to their community and I hope they've learned that.

I knew I just should've kept playing this instead of TLOU

Just bought it, and I can't even launch the game. Every time I get the message that the server is not reachable. I have restarted my PC, I have tried to start the .exe in different compatibility modes, and tried to access a site stated in the error message which would supposedly help me start the game, and that site also can't be accessed. I have tried everything, if people know a fix to this I would love to hear it, otherwise I will be refunding this.
