Online can be fun, depending on your expectations/objectives, It's possible to just play casually avoiding the gargantuan task that is grinding to unlock properties & vehicles required for certain DLC.

Yes it's plagued with modders & cheaters, generally they'll be prone to grief or affect you in some way.

I discourage anyone thinking of buying shark cards to acquire in-game money, The amount received compared to dollar cost is ridiculously poor, you can earn plenty from double/triple payout events each week, plus giant payouts from completing heists..etc.
