Early Access Review
A wise man once said: "Do not judge a game by its cover, but by the quality of its Laguna Seca MX5 Cup.", and i must say that Laguna Seca in this game is amazing.

Pros:
  • The physics are unmatched and for the first time I can really feel the weight transfer in the vehicle taking turns.
  • Force Feedback is consistent and accents small vibrations well.
  • Tire grip feels realistic.
  • Full cockpit adjustment without a 3rd party app

Cons:
  • The menus are slow and the game is optimized. Getting 30-40p fps on low with a RTX360 TI at 1080x5760. Crazy thing is that my resource monitor has my system components at under 40% utilization.
  • Online may be required to play the game. Unknown in the future since they did a day 1 patch.
  • Small bugs throughout. Nothing game breaking, but spent at least 30+ minutes getting setup.

I hope they add ovals.

NO SPOILERS!
RECENT CRITERION:
I can confirm that Steam Deck support is well done and playable. My only issue is that I'd like to be able to play offline on Steam Deck which is not currently supported. I don't care if I don't progress in levels playing offline, but I'd like to have the option. I rarely ran into game breaking bugs like freezing or stutter.

SOUNDTRACK:
9/10 Matches the theme of the game, but gets repetitive like all games. Just use your own music once you re over the OST.

GAME PLAY:
10/10 for this genre. The sheer number of toys you can use and the size of the map are insane. Then you have around 20-30+ missions for each "toy?" that add countless hours of progression. It's the perfect laid back Xtreme sport game that you can pick up whenever you're interested. I'd recommend increasing your trick difficulty so you have some challenge landing things rather than being assisted by the game.

CRITICISM:
Paywalls ofc. You have to pay for a few campaigns like BMX separately. You also have to buy skateboarding and/or the campaign for sb separately. The skateboard DLC feels like it pays homage to Skate 3, but since it's a small part of the game there are only a few skate parks right now. Some of the DLC toys are a ton of fun, but some of them are pretty uninteresting too.

OVERALL:
If you're a fan of the genre then this is a must have. If you want a new skate game then this can quench your thirst temporarily. I know I'll be coming back to this game based on how fun the free roam is. It's got great graphics and atmosphere that bring me back to hit the slopes again and again.

I bought this game because I saw that you could minimize the application and put your gadget on your desktop. The possibilities are endless for tools, games, and widgets to make your desktop interactive.

The current EA release has been stable for me so far. There are a few quality of life things that could improve my experience but it's been great overall! The documentation is good enough to get you started building, although it appears that some pages like the introduction are not finished. There are a few pieces of information I had to find on the dev's discord such as the max size for sprites.

The devs are very active on discord and the forums which is great! They mentioned that they want to add more functionality to some modules before the final release which gives me hope.

Overall, I think this is an application that anyone from beginner to advanced skills in coding can enjoy. It's been really cool to see what other people come up with on the steam workshop.

The game is where it should have been at launch. Iv'e been having a great time and haven't come across any game breaking bugs.

I also think this game gets a lot of bandwagon criticism. People love to hate on things together and there's quite a few negative reviews that don't offer any valid arguments. They're not going to get rid of the operators. The maps are a little too big to run across, and the operators sometimes say cringy sh*t. If you can deal with those facts, this mechanically feels like a Battlefield game.

I'm a believer that a game is not defined by it's launch, but rather the work put in after launch. BF3 & BF4 betas were f*cking messes but turned out alright in the end.

You'll see most people picked up the game for $3 during a sale and I'm no exception. It's hard to say you wont get $3 worth of time in the game, but I cant recommend this game to racing fans of other series.

The graphics are good, and the bland story is on par with other racing games. I never play racing games for the story anyways. The reason I cant recommend it is because the driving mechanics suck. There's no nuance in in the mechanics when it comes to drifting or racing. Want to accelerate through a corner? Too bad, that sends the car into an automatic drift. I think the game takes the idea of arcade driving mechanics too far and I didn't feel like I could play with my own style. I don't want to be forced to drift around every corner.

Don't expect controls with a high skill cap and maybe you'll enjoy it. Maybe Ill give it another go a year from now when I'm bored.

Special Edition Content Review:

Picked this up for 40% off during the summer sale which means you get nearly 2x the crowns (paid currency) for the same price as buying crowns directly.

The exclusive skin that it comes with is awesome, but all the items you can buy with crowns are also unlockable through playing the game. Crowns only allow you to unlock cosmetics before reaching the required level. I had no issues redeeming or applying cosmetics in game like other reviews mention.

If the price is worth the jousting armor or you don't have enough time to level up, then i'd recommend this bundle to you.

I have never played the previous age of empire games, but I'd say this one is worth the $20. You get all the previous dlc included which adds quite a bit of content and personality. The graphics are also pretty good and so is the music.

Only two small non game breaking bugs I have come across are:
-Minor issues with an audio bug where sound clips repeat multiple times
-The game takes like 7 minutes to launch although the load times once I'm in are quick.

Seems like some fans have high expectations due to a few differences from the original, but its still a great game imo. I wouldn't let their opinions sway you if you're new to the franchise.

Early Access Review
Great tactical fps with a lot of potential. The mechanics can be a bit clunky and there are a few bugs but that's all expected in early access. The gun mechanics are saucy and it looks like the devs have plans to add more attachments than just sights. Would recommend, especially 4 free lol

Its peacefull like Stardew Valley and Minecraft....but in space with an infinite number of planets and creatures. Oh, and way more detail in crafting/refining.

I've only started playing since the new update and the game is exactly how I imagined it should have been at launch. I've clocked almost 20 hours in the last few days playing and I feel like I've only scratched the surface.

Edit: The beyond update also brought many quality of life updates as well as multiplayer which adds a whole new depth to the game.

If there was a highly recommend button, I'd click it twice.
