I was really hopeful for this game when I first played the demo years ago, but it definitely doesn't feel like a finished product and (unfortunately due to the situation with the developers) it never will at this point. Buggy, combat that doesn't feel fully fleshed out, and no further development coming in the future. Not worth picking up, definitely not worth giving your money to Mike Z for.

I originally held off on playing this game due to reading some comments on sections feeling repetitive (especially sections like crawling through crevices and sliding down slopes). However, after seeing a friend recommend it over the weekend, I finally picked it up and am thankful I did.

Jedi: Fallen Order is very much a cinematic game, both to its benefit and detriment. I see what folks were talking about early on with certain visuals and actions becoming repetitive, especially as you explore planets for the second or third time. The combat is also a bit repetitive: while it can be fairly visually pleasing and there's a fair share of enemy types, I feel that it doesn't have quite the weightiness or depth as the combat in games I see Fallen Order's combat compared to. This isn't to say the combat or exploring are bad, just that they don't stand out as exceptional or groundbreaking.

Truly, I think the strongest points of the game are the story and the characters. There are plenty of interesting and entertaining interactions among the main cast, which definitely helps keep it enjoyable and attention-grabbing as you play. Some nice settings, character models, and unlockable customization options also help on this front.

Overall I would recommend this game, especially if you can pick it up on a sale. I got it for ~$30 and all-in-all I'd say it's been worth it.

A very fun and at times comedic rogue-like.

An entertaining and flavorful RPG with a style often reminiscent of a Ghibli film. The interactions at times reach points of absurdity that will likely feel either silly and fun or tiring and annoying. In all, it's an enjoyable time and one worth playing, in my experience.

A fairly fun pick-up-and-put-down type of tactical RPG.

The controls are pretty simple, though there's some minor QoL things I wish were included (e.g. camera scrolling when the mouse is at the edge of the screen). I appreciate that you can revisit old maps for skirmishes with randomized enemies, both to explore different scenarios and set-ups with allies and enemies and just for the fun of it.

Recenzja wczesnego dostępu
I've really enjoyed Supergiants' games over the years, and they continue to satisfy with Hades. While it's still in early development, the game feels very well fleshed out, and with a countdown on their main menu to the next major update, it feels very assuring that they've got an update schedule prepared and that the game won't suffer the curse of being left in eternal early development.

The gameplay itself feels a bit like Bastion and Transistor, with a mix of hack & slash and lots of dashing to dodge the masses of enemies and ranged attacks coming at you. As you go from one room to the next, you'll come across various boons and buffs, ranging from the standard health boosts and stronger attacks to new effects added to your attacks and dashes offered by the gods themselves. The variety in buffs each god offers makes for fairly different builds each run, though with the same general strategies for each weapon you can wield, keeping it from ever feeling like a run will be ruined thanks to "one bad item pickup" as can happen in a number of other rogue-likes and rogue-lites.

Along with the general gameplay, there are also a several interesting sub-stories going on across the various characters you'll meet throughout the Underworld, all of which is (in my opinion) voiced pretty well and includes a number of enjoyable witty lines and memorable moments. The game also features a good soundtrack that fits the intensity of the game as well as it does the various locations you'll see; while I think it may not be the strongest of soundtracks across their games (I feel Transistor takes that title), it still does an excellent job at complementing the gameplay and settings without feeling jarring or otherwise distracting from the experience.

In Hades' current state (Version 0.25053), I would definitely recommend picking it up on a sale, but with the amount of content still planned and coming in the near future, I think purchasing it at full price (either now or once it's left early access) would still be a sound and worthwhile investment.

A bit of a bummer that it's still behind consoles on content releases (and seems like it may stay that way), but otherwise a very wonderful and enjoyable game.

While the game definitely still has some minor bugs, as a whole it's been a lot of fun and worth dealing with. Not an exact recreation of the Pathfinder rules set, but does well to stick closely to them in a way that's still manageable in real-time combat and without a floor grid. Would definitely recommend giving it a chance if you enjoy Pathfinder and/or cRPGs and are curious.
