This game is an incredible version of what it is, a farming/job simulator with progression elements, but set around the sea and a sushi restaurant and with a banger sound track. It's so much more charming, funny, and relaxing than any of those other games in the same genre. It has the perfect mix of relaxed game play while still allowing you to obsessively do all the tasks and maximize your time per day.

Other than the awesome music, the biggest positive for me with a game like this is the passage of time, the day is broken up into morning, afternoon, and night.

Time passes when you leave or enter your boat. Realistically you could be in the water for as long as you can pick up oxygen (there are tanks under water to grab) and only once you return to your boat would time have passed to the next stage in the day.

This alone makes the game so much better than a game like Stardew Valley which makes it seem like you can play it in a relaxed way, but the clock is always ticking and you always feel the need to spend every day doing something productive. In Dave the diver you don't necessarily feel that same stress but they still have a way to work in weekly events or special orders for the restaurant that are on a timer.

a game so good, it's worth putting up with chunky frame dropping loads to play with over 150 population. fps drops and load times almost get annoying at about 300 population with an i7 and a 1070 but I'm still playing with foliage on so take that with a grain of salt i guess. all in all it's a good game and worth the price especially since you can change the difficulty on different aspects of the game to make it easier if you want.

update: came back to the game with an updated pc and now a city with 400 pop runs just as well as it did with less than 100 not sure if its because of optimization changes or just the computer upgrade but this game runs great now

beyond addicting. it is rim world in space but improves on a lot of things i disliked about rimworld, mainly i don't have a survivor having a mental breakdown every 20 minutes for inane reasons. some people may still prefer Rimworld for the challenge and wacky scenarios, but to compare them i would say Space Haven can be easier or more relaxing or just less stressful than RW most of the time.

This game had me going back and forth on if I should recommend it or even how much i really liked it. i felt like there was a step back in combat and physics and ragdolls. The combat really put me off at first compared to DL1 but the exploration and the parkour carry this game alone, it really is a step forward in that aspect.

The story would probably be better if it wasn't forced into a choose your own adventure open world, there were just so many things that didn't line up or work right because of my ability to do anything, i missed or skipped important things and kind of had no idea what i should know at any given point in the story. i felt like i was reading a book and set it down, then i pick it back up and im suddenly on a later page and have no idea what happened.

it took me the entire play through to finally come to the conclusion that this was an awesome game that I'm glad i got and glad i got to the end of, and can recommend it. the exploration and traversing the different parts of the city and seeing all the detail and things woven in that did work story-wise is what makes it worthy of a recommend, and hopefully they fix the physics/ragdolls/combat interaction in a patch? idk im not so sure it will be fixed but i'll keep hope.

well worth the price for a chill solo game like this. you'll already know if you like these types of "do a job" games and this one is great. all it needs is more ships/tools and whatever other character progression stuff they decide.

I'm shocked at the steps taken backwards from warband. the combat as atrocious, like walking and swinging through molasses. the speed/momentum mechanic as as rigid and inflexible as it always was and with this slower combat there are just some weapons where you cannot generate enough force to do any damage to someone wearing any amount of armor.

I'm even more shocked at the state of multiplayer, no battle server, no voting on teams, no voting on maps. it's just not fun to play the same nation and map 4 rounds in a row. god help this game if we can't get the same level of mod support as warband because this is DOA as far as I'm concerned.

sure the singleplayer is fun, that's the one thing they copy and pasted correctly, but to act like these slight improvements warrant how long this took is insane.

it's a nice blend of isaac and mana spark. makes you feel like a bad ass though when you chain a few combos
