An absolutely wonderful experience when you can actually play it. The server issues are exceptionally bad. I can understand underestimating the player count in comparison to the first title, but it's been 10 days now. Capping the capacity (on a weekend you're adding 50% extra XP rates no less) at 450k for PC and PS5 combined is actually insane when as of writing this there's nearly 350k on PC alone. It feels like fraud at this point to continue selling a game that the majority of people can't play. Pay the fees for more servers already.

(edit 12/19/22) Game works now. Still runs a bit ♥♥♥♥♥ but it doesn't stutter incessantly anymore. Good stuff. Buy on sale.

An excellent gameplay core, let down my some of the most predatory microtransactions in the industry. You don't even rank or level up; the ONLY thing that levels up is your battle pass, which you can only do by completing rotating challenges during matches. NOTHING you do matters in-game unless it's completing these challenges. I will absolutely update with a thumbs up if 343 actually listens to the community and changes the way experience works, but seeing as this exact issue was ignored when this was brought up as a fundamental problem MONTHS ago when flighting first started, I wouldn't hold my breath for a timely resolution.

Simply put, this is a shockingly brilliant game that's only occasionally brought down by a lack of polish. Don't be apprehensive about another Square Enix Marvel game after the debacle that was Avengers, this is the real deal and absolutely worth the price of admission.

I usually love Metroidvanias, but this one is just... meh. It's beautiful, the soundtrack is gorgeous, but the gameplay, specifically the combat, is really clunky. It doesn't feel smooth at all, and it makes it extremely not fun to play. It's also $25, and you can do much better at that price point (or below it) in this genre. If you're really desperate to try it out, wait for a sale.
