Feels luck based, results say skill based, definitely based.

It's clear that a lot of effort and creativity has gone in to Satisfactory, and a must-have for those that enjoy automation / factory-building games, but I feel there are significant issues holding the game back that aren't being addressed.

**Crashes and Technical Issues**: Particularly if you are using a dedicated server, you should expect to encounter occasional crashes or cascading lag, as well as desync issues (even on a stable LAN connection) with your own position, other entities, invisible belts, ghost foundations etc. The majority of these issues have been submitted to the QA site, but were not fixed nor acknowledged in any patch or known issues announcement, at least in the initial weeks I was playing after the 1.0 update. Understandably, this is quite frustrating, but you will not find solace in community places (e.g. reddit, discord)-- people are very quick to explain that they don't get these issues *that often* and it must be because your hardware is inadequate, or, and I wish I was joking: overkill. This would not bother me so much if the developers communicated on the QA site more. I would give it more time, but other notable issues, with many closed duplicates linked, are still open after 3+ years with no comments from the team. In summary, 1.0 does not feel more stable than early access and the communication around this has been disappointing.

**Gameplay**: I have played since closed alpha and I have never once completed the game. But it is not because I get distracted and move on to something else I find interesting. It is because I reach a point in the game where I know what I want to do, but I have to do some task to get there, and that task is tedious, unchallenging, and not fun. Even if I come home looking forward to playing, I realise that I will need to spend the 2 hours I have free doing something I don't enjoy, in order to later do the thing I was looking forward to do. Unlocking quality of life features or easier recipe chains requires hours running around the map for collectables, which there are hundreds of. Setting up trains requires a lot of time placing rails across the whole map, with incredibly limiting build tools. You will be required to build the same setup of machines over and over, and for any tidy verticality you need to stack and delete objects-- despite being an ongoing request you can't vertical nudge because there are edge cases (no examples given) and not enough keybinds, apparently. Blueprints were reluctantly added, and only in 1.0 have we been able to conveniently make 90 deg double rail turn blueprints, but this is first unlocked in the middle of the game, and the 6x6 version you may want is at the very end of the game. Overall, the gameplay has great foundations, but despite player feedback the developers seem resistant to accept the same solutions to these problems that other similar games have solved. There may be good reasons but they are not communicating their side adequately.

I like this game and I have a lot of fun each play-through before I burn out. Sadly, it has taken years for this game to reach its release state, or rather one that is acceptable for the developers. While setting deadlines is important and they are certainly not done with improving the game, if it was still in early access I would not be leaving a negative review. I hope they communicate a clear plan forward to address these long-standing issues, but until then, I think this needs to be expressed.

Great continuation to the Talos Principle. If you enjoyed the first, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Relaxing, fun, cool art, lots of content to do, doesn't stress me out like stardew valley 🥶 although probably less replayable.

It is an ok game, but it is very limiting and buggy for what a sandbox should be. So far, 10 DLC packs have been produced with no major update for the base game. It's hard to justify "supporting" the developers when that money goes into making more DLC packs and not actual content the game desperately needs. Overall, not worth the time and money spent. Go play something else.

The game has great looter-shooter gameplay, a charming soundtrack, a distinct and engaging artstyle and story, and a passionate dev team behind it. While the game does suffer from content islands, some of which can be grindy to 100%, I heavily recommend playing through the main storyline quests. The later quests are so captivating and unique I find myself replaying them every so often. I do warn that some of the systems and progression aren't crystal clear to new players, so having a friend to play with is key to having the most enjoyment. Finally, I will confidently say that this game has the best monetisation scheme any f2p game has: no (non-cosmetic) content is locked behind money, and the premium currency 'platinum' is tradeable between players, allowing you to play fully free if you choose.

Overall, not a game I particularly enjoy playing non-stop, especially since I have completed most of what there is to be done, but I always come back to it for all of the above. It's free, check it out.
