An intensely gratifying platformer with understated movement mechanics.

As much a "Metroidvania" as it is a classic adventure platformer, you get a lot of movement tech and unlockables that help you progress through the levels. While it focuses less on combat, the puzzles are satisfyingly difficult, and there's little to keep you from cheesing some jumps, flips, and wall kicks to progress if you're stuck.

While short, it's an instant classic that any platformer fan should try at least once. Also, the "Sol Sister" outfit was worth the time trial.

Spent a little under 200 hours trying to love this game but it fails on too many levels.

Base-building is actually worse than that in FO4 from a technical and aesthetic standpoint. NASApunk aesthetic gets thrown out the window once you get your loaned watch and space suit. Gunplay is lame and somehow manages to make cool laser weapons "feel" and look like shooting a turd out of a potato cannon. Core gameplay loops is boring and repetitive. Too many cutscenes and loading shenanigans literally rob you of your time. Quality of Life features that should've been standard need to be modded in, and even after you do, the game is still trying it's best to put you to sleep. Plot taken from Skyrim, but somehow done even stupider.

Finally decided to align myself with the bad guy Space Pirates and somehow I just ended up hating them even more. Finally gave up when I realized the ship-building was the only fun part of the game and locked behind a leveling system.

It's an Isekai murder/mystery/puzzle game, but it's Ancient Rome and you have the powers of Return-By-Death and also save-scumming. It's a well thought out game originally intended to be a Skyrim mod that turned into something greater. Great visuals, great aesthetics, great story, and a glorious soundtrack. You get invested too quickly if you're a history buff.

Great game for hardcore Weebs. First person, skill-based action/adventure RPG in a free-roam Shibuya where you fight the physical manifestation of creepypastas and Japanese urban legends. Gets repetitive after 30 hours if you're looking to 100%, but at least the game lets you pet and feed Shiba Inu dogs!

The first in Suda51's No More Heroes series that still holds up almost 20 years later. The port's achievements seems to be broken and you might crash if you try to skip the cutscene after a boss, but aside from that it's still the good 'ol crispy Travis Touchdown slash 'em up game from 2007. Cell shading in particular still holds up.

Buy it if you're in the mood for a fun game that doesn't try and get deep until the sequel.

After playing RE4 on the Gamcube/Wii, RE5 on repeat, and ignoring the others, it's nice to know that Survival Horror still means you have to survive.

For the price I paid I want to regret it but I still paid for it. I can't take back the sins I've made.

The Dark Souls of Roguelike Impossible Mario Syobon Action Side-Scrollers.

Nothing beats booting up Left 4 Dead 2 after installing a bunch of model/texture/sound mods that work flawlessly and turn a classic Zombie Shooter into a schizophrenic nightmare full of anime girls and multicolored gore.

Don't be fooled, it's actually very much a Death Stranding-like game.
