Early Access Review
I'm fascinated by the level design of this game. Areas flow together strangely well (in most places) with clear opportunities for in-world bases and quick traversal without sacrificing each area's charm/theme. NPCs are around but they offer only loose directions or world-building. Frankly, I think it's worth the full asking price, but it's a steal when it goes on sale.

A great little game clearly made with love, passion, and a lot of creative spirit. Lil' Renekton and I had a great end-of-year adventure the likes of which I hope dearly to see again someday. I received it as a gift, but would have been happy to have picked it up on a sale myself. Please give it a shot if cute, relaxed games with a heartfelt stories are in your wheelhouse!

Something about Hunt always draws me back into the bayou. Is it the smooth gunplay? The relatively-balanced loadouts? Maybe. But I think it is a bit deeper than that, even. There is a sense of hunting your fellow players, listening to their movements and predicting their next move, hearing their gunfire and knowing what likely weapons they have, even quietly triggering mobs to attack them for an easy follow-up kill.

And knowing that somewhere out there, someone is doing the same to you.

This was an excellent game that truly highlights the best of "Indie" horror game development. While it may not spook your pants off, especially as you learn more and progress through the story, I hardly saw this as a downside. It compensates the loss of "pure" horror for excellent story that truly immerses the player in this strange world and the characters within. There are loving touches scattered around that make exploration worthwhile in the different locations.

I would gladly play another game of this style, and will be excited for whatever We Create Stuff does next!

Early Access Review
Back when this game was stated to be one year from release in 2020, I was excited enough to buy a copy for myself and a friends to play. A $60 price tag was quite high, but Larian Studios was a respected maker of RPG games and I figured they would make the experience worthwhile in the meantime.

By the time we had completed most of chapter 1, we had seen the potential of the game, but it was clear this was far from complete. Then we discover there is no way to keep progress between "Patches" of the release in Early Access (you have to reset your entire run OR forgo all new content). So not only is the game a full $60 right now, but we have to wait a year to play it at all? Quite a bummer. Then we blew past the first release window. Then here we are with a 2023 tentative release. Larian could have given us a paltry 10% "You believe in us" discount, but instead ran away with the full price before changing their promises that were clearly never realistic. Can not recommend this practice. Might be a good game when complete but will certainly nudge all friends to wait for a hefty sale- what is one more year after 3 of waiting?

Warframe is likely my most-played game of all time, and will possibly keep that title forever. If I was reviewing a game that existed 1000 hours of gameplay ago, this would be a "YES!!!" from me. But sadly, times have changed.

The inclusion of Rivens, which drove a huge wedge between "usable" and "meta" weapons, really damaged the game in my opinion. No guarantees to reroll certain stats, only complete rerolls at huge prices that are essentially your time. I've had excellent, meta Rivens. I've grinded them out only to have nerfs or changes make them irrelevant. It hurts, but overall I wish the system didn't exist.

Then came along Nightwave, which asked players to grind out content that they would otherwise avoid in order to receive exclusive, end-game necessary rewards. After multiple frustrating experiences with this, like sitting in a Kuva Survival for 55 minutes only to have boths Nekros's DC and cause a fail at 59:30 (just shy of the 1 hour required), I realized one important thing: I was no longer able to progress by doing what I wanted.

I could no longer choose between a dozen missions and feel like I was making progress- there were clear, defined things I needed to do before I could play new content. Bosses, events, and more now required leveling things other than my beloved Warframe and Weapons. NW felt like a requirement instead of a simple challenge, as I needed the rewards but couldn't put in enough time each day to get it while in college. In the end, the game started to feel like a commitment and less like a fun, casual adventure I could sink my precious spare time into.

I want to love this game, and maybe it will come back to its roots- but with Tencent at the helm, I truly doubt it. Do your research before playing, or this may break your heart like it broke mine.

It's hard not to be impressed with this game! Clean card play, excellent music for boss-fights, and game themes that have no right to be this good. Often a fairly simple game, but only on the surface...

Play if you have ANY interest in what you see. Skip spoilers.

Truly, DRG is Early Access done right.

The game launched in a completely playable state and the devs have never stopped improving upon what was already a fantastically fun model. I've never had concerns for the additions or changes, and in fact am eagerly awaiting the new weapons to be released in the next couple of months. I find it to be an easy recommendation to friends, as it is often on sale (and is ALREADY well worth the asking price, imho).

I have a special place in my library for this title. I just wish the Devs would make Acid Spitters have a brighter internal light so I could see them!

I don't particularly like writing negative reviews, and I wasn't planning on doing so for Borderlands 3 initially, but the Season Pass 2 really tipped me this way. The Epic exclusivity deal was already a huge blow to the credibility of Gearbox, but selling a $100 edition of the game and then having the gall to cheap out at the end and reveal more DLC is appalling. I may have moaned and grumbled at a "Season Pass 1" on release, but at least then Gearbox would have properly communicated their intent to release content not included therein.

If you're curious as to what I meant by "cheap out", simply open the Fustercluck DLC page and read the reviews there. When content like Guns/Love/Tentalces exists, there is no excuse to put out a 4-hr DLC with the same price tag.

I'm a long-time PC player, and never had the opportunity to play or even watch H:ZD up to this point. From a brand-new perspective, it accomplishes the blend of exploration and story quite well, with memorable characters and a reason for your character's ignorance of the world.

At the time of this review, many complaints have been posted about performance issues or crashing. Outside of the animations refreshing at 30fps, the game runs smoothly enough to not affect my gameplay. Please do take into consideration before buying but the game itself is worth the rocky start.
