Extremely poorly structured
Extremely poorly paced (vast majority of your gametime will be extremely slow, lost bumbling)
Extremely poor use of resources for a 2D game
Extremely poorly coded (6 years after launch, the continue button still bugs the game)
Extremely brave to make such a messy, buggy game a roguelite
EXTREMELY tedious.

"Extremely poor" is a description that suits this game in most aspects, except the writing - which can't really be enjoyed given the way the game is structured.

Too bad I'm past the refund mark.

First, the bad things.
There are bugs. Most of them are rare and not too bad, BUT the crime/reputation system is broken to all hell. Not only is reputation altered after attacking even if all the victims are are "taken care of", but it also lowers multiple times and THEN the victims respawn and REPORT THEIR OWN MURDERS. This bug appears to had been there since launch and happens even with stealth kills, and it's ridiculous that Warhorse is apparently ignoring it as it would be too difficult to fix. The game also suffers from FPS drops, though that could be either my machine or just how cryengine is.

That being said, the game is excellent otherwise. The stunning recreations of medieval bohemia, the realistic approach to combat that makes every RPG I can think of pale in comparison, the sheer vastness of the content, the quests that never fail to be interesting and unique, the complex equipment system, complete voice acting and more,e the game is downright addictive and a lot of fun.

The game is barely functional, and riddled with bugs. If it can ever be called a game. As an example character cannot go a flight of stairs without tripping and failing to get up. The graphics side of it didn't receive anything above minimal attention either. The "Rump" model for instance is a crudely modified model dyed orange with an unfitting wig with the same, exaggerated expression at all times and extremely crude animations, despite being the centerpoint of the game. From how I see it this is an asset flip made popular by youtubers, probably sponsored.

A cash grab that's not only actually worse, not only does it spit in your face, but the writers, like every second work about time travel, gets lost in his own writing. At least there's funny quips at themselves. I wouldn't reccomend it even to the fans of the original trilogy. Oh, and we finally go to Elysium after having it dangled in front of us for THREE GAMES. For a very brief while.

I'm almost thinking that the writer thinks dissatisfying the audience is a plot device that somehow makes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, hopelessly stretched plot deeper.

Daedalic was probably hoping to cash in on Prop Hunt like PUBG cashed in on that Arma mod, but in the end it's a trainwreck from graphics to scale, and in the end it's worse than the original prop hunt mod. Wipe your ass with that fifteen euro instead, it's a better use of your money.

It's a bit tough to decide between just thumbs up and thumbs down. The game is too short to justify the full price, especially for a 2d platformer, in my opinion. The controls get floaty but they're not horrid. The art differs greatly from portraits and promo, as they hired a different artist specially to make it more appealing. The settings of the stages mated with good soundtrack are certainly interesting, but the assets get reused sometimes too often (Crow's ship) and can be pixelated at times, especially in the case of backgrounds. However the story is charming, the music is decent. In my opinion the metacritic score is fitting. Up to you to decide wheter it's worth it for you, but looking back I'd wait for a sale.
