Going into this game I had minimal expectations overall, considering it's predecessor under-delivered on almost all fronts. And, after finishing the first playthrough, I am simply enamored by that finale paired with the overall narrative of the game. The level of narrative in the plot paired with stellar character development, both of which were mediocre at best in the first game, uplifts the experience dramatically. The devs did not just stop there, they have made even further improvements that I have elaborated below.

Gameplay:

I would like to start off with one of the biggest changes they have made to this game, non-linearity. A bold and substantial change, but it certainly was a smart one. The ability to explore the Union freely and having side-quests that you can do whenever to unlock extra memories, earn rewards and collect more resources truly makes it feel unique, and less like it's predecessor or other horror games. The world of Union itself is designed exquisitely, you can explore majority of the homes to look for resources. The game certainly doesn't make it a breeze by including occasional dream encounters which forces you to be stealthy or outright flee the area. The variety in monsters, especially the addition of the white witch (that's what I'm calling her) makes it all the more challenging and forces you to consider your resources, health before going for an encounter. There's also "The Marrow", an underground STEM facility that the player can use to traverse from one part of Union to the other. The UI/UX does leave much to be desired for, one of the few underwhelming aspects about this game. But, I do applaud the workbench addition. Albeit, it could've been implemented better. But again, it's not the worst. The game once again pins you against another psychotic villain. However, it's not the only villain and I won't elaborate further about the others. The boss fights are much more enjoyable until the occasional frustrating moments that will deteriorate the experience due to the game's horrid mechanics, one of the other aspects that hasn't really been improved upon from it's predecessor.

Story and Characters:

The characters you encounter throughout your playthrough all have a major role in the overall plot, and they are all introduced adequately. Even Esmeralda who was put right on the spot was given a proper backstory that justifies her actions. This is a significant improvement considering Joseph from the first game legitimately felt like a waste of space in my opinion. The plot is significantly easier to follow whilst maintaining subtlety, just the right amount that will prompt questions. Questions that does get answered after Chapter 10 when all the pieces starts to fall into place. Chapter 6-9 felt a bit mundane, and offered very little in terms of exhilarating gameplay. The way the game starts to connect all the dots from Chapter 10 and onwards leading up to the finale will answer all the questions from both games.

Graphics:

The visuals are definitely much better and it rightfully should be. A major improvement I have noticed was the improved color accuracy of lighting over its predecessor.

Audio:

The audio department didn't linger behind either. TEW II adds some much improved audio, especially some of the OSTs that are just flawless.

Verdict:

This game is worth the money. I went into this with very low expectation due to the first game being mediocre. And, I was blown away. Despite it's flaws in gameplay which leads to numerous frustration moments. The narrative itself paired with nonlinear gameplay design and stellar character development of Seb and the others elevates the experience. It truly provides you with something magical. Something that is nothing like it's counterpart, but a product truly unique. I will add this however, this game could've been something truly revolutionary if the development team had more budgets or expertise to improve on the aspects that holds it back.

This game is an underrated gem. That's all I can say here. If you're into the whole Point-and-click Adventure genre. You'll love this game.

Gameplay:

There's not a whole lot to offer. The game doesn't have any combats or anything of that sort. You just explore your surroundings, solve puzzles and make choices that further progresses the story. Puzzles aren't all that difficult either, but they're definitely fun to solve, nonetheless. The camera feels out of place while exploring certain areas. Good to know, the developers have already addressed for the upcoming Ep.2. The world is scattered with Easter eggs from notable games such as The Walking Dead, Firewatch and more, that I really should not spoil. Also, I hope the devs increase the sprint speed of the protagonist in Ep.2. RT is a robot and should be able to sprint faster.

Graphics:

I was blown away by how gorgeous the visuals are. I never expected anything of this sort, initially. The devs did an amazing job utilising the Unity engine along with Nvidia's proprietary HBAO+, DoF tech, thus, providing the player with a breathtaking visual. It certainly doesn't match that of an Open-world title from big name studios. But it still exceeds expectations and can only get better from here on. And I am really impressed.

Audio:

The audio is extremely soothing. Blends in well with the ambiance. The voice of RT-217NP needs to be adjusted esp. during cutscenes during a camera angle change. At times, it gets extremely loud and other times it's alright.

Verdict:

This game is worth the money, if you're a huge fan of point-and-click adventure genre. If you're the type who values gameplay over story. You might be disappointed. Cuz this game just exploring, solving puzzles and making choices as the story progresses. With that said, I look forward to playing Episode 2.

Deck-Nine did a fantastic job. I had low expectations going in and I was truly marveled after playing Ep. 1 & 2. The story of Chloe is really awesome. I can't wait for the season finale.

An excellent third person action/adventure narrative from Remedy with fantastic visuals and gameplay. I also adore the TV show aspect of it. Just wish the plot had a bit more depth. Still great, nonetheless. Really hope there's a sequel that goes even deeper. Now please give us Alan Wake 2.

Aside from a few cheap jumpscares at the start. The rest of the game is genuinely scary and doesn't rely on the repetition of jumpscares like most modern horror films. Great plot as well.

One of the best story-telling game I've played in the last few years. The ambiance & OST just fits in so perfectly. Loved the story so much so I ended up playing it twice.

Reseña de CS:GO
10/10 would recommend.

Word of advice: Just don't play with a P90 and rash B.
