I have played about 5 levels so my opinion may not be totally accurate, but I already got a decent grip of how the game works.

This game is great when got during a sale (my case). It's relatively fun, the community creation aspect and etc is a big plus, but the combat is kinda clunky for a Hack n' Slash. I found myself waving my weapon at nothing at many times, and the play with mouse + keyboard seem much worse than with a controller, I think a controller recomendation should be there. *However if you press the movement keys on the same direction the mouse is pointing at while striking, it does seem (at least seem) to improve accuracy.

Also, despite having quite simplistic graphics, I have both a gaming computer and a notebook, and I found myself shocked to notice that the notebook couldn't run above 30 fps, actually not even above 20. It's an i3 with 4 gigs of memory, and the video card isn't really great, but it plays Dota 2 really well with almost moderate graphic settings. Not being able to run this game just seems... wrong. * NOTE I put the game in the lowest settings and now things are pretty smooth, at least with small mobs so far, but to me it is still weird that Dota 2 on some average aspects still runned smoother. Anyways at least you will probably play the game decently with just a little better than minimum specs.*

Anyway I'm not sure if I would recommend this game for full price, but if you are looking for a new way of experiencing old concepts from action rpg-like games, this one will probably keep you entertained for quite some time. I just wish the hitboxes and optimizations were, (I may be wrong here but that's how I felt) better. Still, I think I found myself a new timekiller.

The continuation of the first Borderlands which was highly acclaimed for its rpg elements with exploration, lots of guns, comical approeaches and lots of enemies to blast.

Borderlands 2 made those things even better, but Handsome Jack is the main reason you just decide to keep playing the game, to know what other brillant and crazy comment he is going to talk about you or to finally beat the hell out of his face for the terrible things he did. That guy just needs a chill pill. Or needed. Anyway, he's dead now.

Playing this with friends is what makes this game special. Do it!

This has been a good criticized game for some time already for its inteesting interaction and presentation of the evolution of most game genres, comical approach and references and inside jokes.

But when I feel like just playing a cool minigame in this I just go into Evoland and play Double Twin against the NPCs with the cards I found along my exploration of the actual game. It's such a nice timekiller.

-Okay, maybe now I can hunt some Eidolons.

One of my favorite games to date. I played this back when it came in a CD and it suggested you to instell DirectX 3.a (!)
With a great comic approach, but with well done puzzles and a (although crazy) interesting story, this game has a bit of everything: Action, Puzzles, Comedy, Exploration and it has its somewhat open world parts!

tl;dr if you enjoy old style adventure games with lots of things to do and discover, you won't regret this. It never gets old.

This game had a combination of 3d envirorment (normally outdoor) with 2d envirorment (indoor isometric) and it is really really old, so don't expect great graphics.

But Twinsen's Odyssey has its magic for everything, the game is great, the soundtrack is excellent and has a lot of personality.

And just SO many things happen in this game! The first part of the game is:
-Your dino-fly pet is struck by lightning (no biggie) because of a heavy raining and fell then got injured (I mean lightning is nothing, right??)
-You go to the pharmacy to find a medicine for the dino-fly but then they have nothing for it. A lady says she knows someone who can help you but.
-Some random dude comes and steals the lady's umbrella you gotta take it back so that she will tell you what she knows (quests everyone?)
-You give her the umbrella and she tells that in a nearby island (you also live in an island) there is a Wizard Doctor who can help you, but then.
-It is raining so hard the ferries can't take you to the island. You discover that there is a Weather Wizard who can help you, but he needs to reach the highest place, that is a Lighthouse but.
-The gatekeeper of the lighthouse is missing, and you find out that he was kidnapped by a monster.
-So you gotta:
Find the monster's den to save the lighthouse gatekeeper to open the lighthouse so that the Weather Wizard can stop the raining, so that you can take the ferry and go to the other island, to find a doctor who can help you with your dino-fly, then come back and finally heal the injure!!

And that's just the BEGINNING of the game!

It's amazing, really.

I got so many copies to give my friends and play with. Turned out it was so broken I was embarrassed to give them to my friends. And it is not and will never be completed again. Thank goodness nowadays there are some ways to get refund because this was not the case back then.
No news since 2014 and in Early Access. Why is this even still on Steam?

It really has nothing to do with Metal Gear Solid tactical spionage action, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. It even has its stealth moments.

It is basically a Hack n' Slash with decent soundtrack, decent characters, good voice acting, good graphics even for nowadays, decentgameplay and decent progression of the story/plot.

Don't expect to use guns aside from some grenades and rocket launchers. But as you defeat bosses, you unlock different melee weapons (their weapons) to spice the way you cut through everything a bit more.

Fight Villains with crazy ideals. So crazy they even look like real life people. Amazing, huh?/

And now that this game is not new it has a lower price. What are you waiting for?

It's been quite a lot of years now since this release so you probably know you are either going to buy this game or not. If you are, you like challenges. If you are not, you probably are not a fan of challenges.

Still, there are some things you should know about the game and the most important one, which you probably know by now is that this game IS A BAD PORT. Thankfully, there are fixes for it which makes things much, much better.

The second think you should, but probably know is that IT WILL MAKE THINGS MUCH BETTER IF YOU HAVE A CONTROLLER. I can totally play DS2 with keyboard and mouse. I actually prefer it that way. But DS1 doesn't have the same ease with configuring key bindings than DS2, probably because of the bad port. I never really bothered in going too deep in trying to customize keys for DS1 though.

Now, if you are willing to get this game, you have probably heard from friends that this game is AMAZING, IT IS AWESOME, THAT IS IS INCREDIBLY HARD, and I must be the one to tell you that IT REALLY IS NOT ALL THAT. The game is really good, but the bad port, some bugs that still exist and will probably never get fixed, the weird and clunky way to find players online (it may take a really long time for the game to notice you are online), some weird hitboxes (altough not as much as DS2) that will make you shout "THAT'S BULLSH-" and fps issues even on decent specs, specially a place named Blighttown may start to impress you.

The game isn't really hard. It even has messages on the floor to guide you through the commands! And I mean, the game is quite punishing and challenging, but it is really not that hard. This game most of the times offers a "hardcore" way to deal with things (mostly go melee against anything) and a "cheap" way to deal with things (basically with a Bow, but the game sometimes offers spots that you just can get nearly untouched and finish monsters and even bosses, for example the Capra Demon). Maybe such cheap ways exist just so that people don't complain too much about the difficuly and prorgess, though. Going full melee in the early game is quite tricky with lack of health, stamina and knowledge of enemy movesets. This game is one of those games in which the first playthrough is very interesting, frustrating, rewarding and everything altogether. If you are playing the game for the first time, I suggest you practice your reaction timing, and don't read any wiki or guide about it unless you are really having a tough time. This is the kind of game you will have suffered a lot to finish for the first time, but know that you learned so much you will probably want to start over just to have smoother, "better" progression and exeperience. And maybe try to PvP.

Also, regarding the game being too hard. You might want to use a Tower Shield and go Tanky, then you will see things getting much, much easier. Just don't expect to be unbeatable. You will still need to roll and dodge and parry efficiently, but the game will be much less punishing if you go through that path. If you want to play a light, glasscannon Dexterity build, then you will need to be much better at dodging and such if you don't want to die a lot.

PvP sometimes has hackers. PvP is really poorly balanced in DS1. The only thing that matters is level bracket. Meaning that in your early games you may find people who completely upgraded their pyromancy abilities (which can be upgraded parallel from levels) and one shot you. Or people who have progressed just a little on the story but already unlocked powerful Sorceries and have made dedicated builds that will one shot you with Soul Spear if you don't pay attention or roll properly. But because the PvP is also poor on the lag issue, you may see yourself rolling and get hit, even backstabbed (the famous lagstabs, which still happens even in DS2, that has a much, much better online system. But still not great when it comes to lagging, or maybe the hitboxes are still bad for the quick time event of backstab).

So now you know. If you buy this game, you probably won't regret it. But I suggest doing so when with a discount. The game is fun and all, but it is crearly not all that and you will know what I am talking about once you play it. But well, not everything is perfect, right?

Spoiler Alert:

The final boss is one of the most disappointing ones.

Cons: It's 2020 and you are still playing CS when there are far better and more realistic (and rewarding) FPSs out there. Gunplay feels outdated as ♥♥♥♥.
Pros: Drop skin cases when they are released so that you sell them and buy other games.
