Jesus loves you, visitor! Phil. 4:13 (Please read this profile message first)

Hello, and welcome to my Steam profile! :lunar2019wavingpig: As you may have guessed, I'm a complete gaming nerd. I used to be a fan of Nintendo, but not anymore, although I still like some of their IPs like Super Mario and Star Fox. I also have accounts on Discord, PlayStation, Xbox, and Ubisoft. I can bore you to tears on anything Doctor Who, Bionicle, DC Comics, technological, or anything overtly Christian.

So, why Timbrwulf? This is in reference to Thomas Timberwolf, the last cartoon series developed by the late cartoon legend, Chuck Jones. It's also one of the first internet-based cartoons. The complete series is on Internet Archive for free viewing - look it up!

Yes, I've blocked comments from anyone who is not "friended". I don't allow comments on my profile, mainly because I don't want people spamming my profile. I like a clean profile. If you want to talk to me on Steam, join one of my groups! If you send me a friend request, I might not accept until I get to know you better... and even then, I might not accept. I'm very picky about that on Steam.

Wanna chat? Feel free to get in touch with me via Discord and Mastodon to nerd out over gaming, old TV shows, tech, movies, and deep stuff like non-religious Christian principles! I currently only converse in text to strangers, so please don't ask for face reveal, video chat, etc. or you may get blocked by me.

Please note: I should warn you - I do not type words just to please the masses, so some of what I say may not exactly be pleasant, but I always try to be honest. I also am very much human, and can say things I don't truly mean or that is inaccurate. I'm constantly striving to seek truth and forge better friendships - let's grow together! :lunar2019grinningpig:

Also please note: Not everything I show off on my profile may be child appropriate. Some games, artwork, etc. may contain suggestive themes, mild language, and some violence or suggested violence. Even so, I've become more cautious on what I allow on my Steam profile, so you'l find nothing gory or outright pornographic here!

Finally, please be careful when you check out other people whose art I've favorited or who comments on my posts! The Steam Community has plenty of folks who upload and say... well, not very good things. I have run across plenty of nasty art and disrespectful comments by people who have little to no scruples. While I personally do not promote such behavior, it's not really against Steam's rules unless it's trolling or outright illegal activity; if you run across a profile doing such, I say pray for them.

About TGif Gamer
"Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:12b-13 HCSB

What is TGif Gamer?
TGif Gamer is Timothy Green's (Doctor Timbrwulf) own gamer presence online, sharing his thoughts on popular video games, movies, TV shows, and tech gadgets!

What can I expect from TGif Gamer?
Through Steam and Discord, you can connect with Tim and other gamers to stream games, watch geeky videos, talk about Tim's nerd obsessions and faith in Christ, and even get free giveaways of digital goods! Types of content and promotions will vary depending on the situation at hand.

How can I connect with TGif Gamer?
➡️ Steam Chat: https://steamproxy.net/chat/invite/OcD46N2B
Our Steam Group is currently on an invite-only basis. You're welcome to ask for membership, but we can't guarantee approval.
➡️ Public Discord: https://discord.gg/JFA5zkBSrc
Our Discord server is open to everyone! Please read the rules upon joining.

Is TGif Gamer family-friendly?
TGif Gamer services and content are predominantly geared towards an adult audience . This may mean some content with suggestive themes (artistic nudity, revealing clothing, or implied adult situations), violent references (some blood or cartoon violence), or mild language (damn, hell, etc.) is present within some forms of content (all of which depends on what is covered, i.e. which games or other mediums are discussed or shown).

Even so, we (as in Tim, his family and friends, and anyone allowed to moderate) take great care to avoid showing off NSFW content, such as excessive blood and gore, pornography, or explicit language (like slurs, F-bombs and S-bombs), as we want to set ourselves apart from the world and teach against these things in a somewhat humorous, yet to-the-point matter. Therefore, while we do not recommend TGif Gamer for kids, it should be safe for teens and adults (we strongly encourage parents of teens to be involved).

I'm interested in enhancing TGif Gamer services! How can I get involved?
As of right now, TGif Gamer is not monetized nor popular, so we don't have any means of contact other than what is already provided (that we are willing to share). If you are interested in helping out, your best bet is a DM to Tim on Discord right now.

Currently, we are not accepting financial offers or any form of sponsorship. This organization and all of its services are free to use, and we feel that making people pay for stuff would cripple the experience, and even stifle the ability to reach out and help others. That said, individual members may support other organizations or charities monetarily, but this is not strictly related to TGif Gamer and is on a person-to-person basis. In short, they are deciding to do so; it's not because TGif Gamer is making them do so.

I love the idea, but the "game" needs a little more polish before I can recommend it.

This app can run in both standard and VR. Since I don't have a VR headset, I ran the game in standard mode on my Steam Deck, which isn't the intended experience, but I can still point out some issues.

First of all, the controls are lacking. It's developed from an educational standpoint, sure, but there needs to be some gaming experience applied in order to make the inputs familiar. Holding the button for right-click in order to rotate the view seems cumbersome; why not have this automatically bound to mouse movement, and have right-click be a toggle between the camera rotation and the cursor? As it is, moving a mouse (in my case, using a trackpad for mouse movement) does nothing unless you click or hold a button.

I understand that the devs of this program were trying to cut back on performance hits... but several free-standing "statues" were actually just flat images mapped in a 3D way that makes me think of the trees in Super Mario 64. This is 2024, not 1996. Please take time to make the statues more 3D! If you guys are worried about performance, perhaps add quality toggles (like adjustments for anti-aliasing, resolution, sampling, etc.) to have the options of higher or lower overall quality.

Finally, it seems largely unfinished, as there is nothing upstairs. I assume it will be added to in the future? Some feedback on this would be nice.

Again, the idea is great, but the software is greatly lacking. Until improvements are made, I'm not recommending this, for now.

UPDATE October 13th, 2024: Since posting this review, the developer has responded, promising improvements and explaining the technical challenges of a single person making this "game" feel more complete and polished. As I can't change the recommendation of this to "Informative" or similar, I will leave it as "Not Recommended" for now until more improvements are made... However, the fact that the dev was quick to respond is promising of the software's future!

UPDATE November 27th, 2024: I can tell that the developer believes in this software, as the amount of exhibits have doubled in size, and some statues which were completely flat are now fully 3D. I would like to think that the lost works would get a pseudo-3D effect (flat on one side, 3D on the other), but I'm not sure if the dev will go for this idea.

The controls are still clunky, but can be compensated for via macros. Therefore, I am changing my recommendation. Thanks to Hooked Wit for responding to my feedback! 👍🏻

CALLING ALL INDIE GAME DEVELOPERS! I've got this Game Jam going on on itch.io! It's my first one, so I'd appreciate it if you'd help me out... by joining. Only join if you guys are serious about making a game.

https://itch.io/jam/timothy-greens-game-jam

...Oh, yeah. Prizes. Umm... How about my nomination? ...Not good enough? 😟 Unfortunately, I can't offer prizes, at this time. That may not be true for future jams by yours truly, but for now, the best I can do is promote the winning game like crazy on Steam, Discord, Mastodon, and wherever else site owners will let me. I don't do Facebook/X, but I have ways of getting the word out. 😏

So, why again am I called Doctor Timbrwulf? Because, on a full moon in October, I BECOME A WEREWOLF! 🐺

...Who then plays video games. Like I do the rest of the year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

NOTE: I've changed my PFP to a new one. I told Stable Diffusion, an AI image generator, to make a picture with "the Tenth Doctor as a timberwolf". It generated this image first, but with the character holding a gun. LAME! So I took the image to GIMP, found an image of the Sonic Screwdriver (thanks to the DWLegacy wiki on Fandom!), added a glow to the Screwdriver, did a whole bunch of other modifications including color enhancement, and voila! A pretty good profile pic, if I do say so myself. 😉
