The ending was kind of twisted. Story aside, i like the level construction. I dont normally play puzzle games, but i took a liking to this one.

Coming from AC Black Flag an Revelations this one was quite a let down. Good thing AC Rogue picked up the pieces are reminded me how good and fluid the game can be.

I think this game would be great if it also had a mobile app that would allow you catch Pals in the real world with GPS and various Palspheres with some material that will help you train your Pals and person. I don't think it's been done yet, but it would be awesome to see happen.

This is a fantastic game and i thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a lot of depth in both the story and gameplay.
Just as a personal preference, although the game is compatible with the controller, it is much easier to navigate through the environment and the UI with the keyboard and mouse. I know its still in early development and pre-release stage still, but it already has a lot of activity and replayability to offer. For those who are willing to play the game without cheats, you may absolutely do so and the achievements are not impossible to obtain. for those who want to get thru the story quickly and cheese through the achievements, you can use Cheat Engine to alter some of your gameplay. Overall, i highly recommend this game for long hours of gameplay.

Great, fun game. Beautiful graphics. The smooth, easy and simple game play allowed me to actually enjoy the sights and sounds. The music also went very well with every scenario and the unbelievable (obviously lying) narration very well complemented the game progress as well.

I believe nothing he says.

Easy and basic game mechanics and a lot of fun to play. I love the levels where you get to utilize Dex, his dig and it just adds another level of enjoyment.

This stems from playing Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 1, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
As far as story telling goes, it not very exciting. It really doesnt get exciting until Chapter 4 (out of 5). Of the games in the series I have played, this really felt like a DLC - A Colosseum game with quests and a lot larger gambling space really is what this game sums up to be.

Youre mainly stuck in Sotenbori. Have little to nothing to do in Ijinjo and you dont even get to touch Kamurocho. They do tie in their Yakuza Like a Dragon game and the upcoming games in the series and it does cover the tiny interaction Kiryu had with Kasuga and thats it.

They bring back some of the references and players from their previous titles which kind of gets me engaged just a little more, but the face value it brings falls below my expectation. In perspective, I spent more time finishing the Cyberpunk DLC alone at 100% achievement than this game also at 100% achievements. Ill get more into the game details towards the end.

Fighting feels a little sloppy. Im glad they brought back the button mashing brawl way of fighting. He doesnt really reach to hit the next enemy so there is a lot of air combat. You get 2 fighting modes: Agent mode where you can use your weapon arsenal which is great to use for anyone who is not a boss.
Then you have Yakuza mode that is good for bosses which is pretty much it.

As far as using or finding weapons, you cannot keep or equip any weapon. The weapon you use in that fight only last until the end of the battle scene, until you use a heat action or until you are knocked down. \
Unlike other Yakuza games, you can stack similar items and have compounding stacks. Here, you cannot.

They got rid of the food combos for more effective healing and they also removed item sets for boosted stats. When youre swapping out gear, the equipment screen does not tells you what stats the current item gives, but it will indicate what stats will change when you swap it out. They dont show duplicates which makes equipping gear much simpler and easier, but its also very limited and shrunken down.

Im so glad that the golf mini game has gotten so much better to play. The golf mini game is actually fun to play and enjoyable. The Karaoke game feels like an actual rhythm game now because the buttons match the beats but you can only sing with Akame- no one else.

The achievements are realistic to accomplish. Unlike the Kiwami versions of the game, the achievements are impossible feats of perfection. This one at least, you dont have to play the game up to a certain level to be able to get the achievement to pop.

Its cool that there are quests you can do depending on the outfit youre wearing. I would like to see more of this in future titles, but make it where you can change your outfit in your home base or even use your Colosseum outfit out in the open like a regular costume. It also shows the change of outfit during the cutscenes. This game only allows you to change outfit in one place, and its troublesome to access sometimes.

POCKET RACING - even with guides, you really have to work for your wins and you do really have to utilize your boosts and stabilize abilities at the right times. Its so much more fun.

They did try to do something unique with their cabaret club interaction where they make it more like an interactive movie instead of the usual game graphics. Its unique; like the photography studio sidequest on Yakuza Kiwami 1.

As for the overall game, the writers did a great job with the ending. It portrayed very strong emotions and does tie in Kiryu (in this case, Joryu) with the whole reason he had his name erased in the first place. Its just THAT ending scene alone is what makes playing thru feel a little rewarding. Still, all things considered, I still felt more disappointed than satisfied (or even just ok) with this game as a whole.

its really difficult to justify paying for this game at full price. Its fun, but it just felt lacking - unfinished even. Im really hoping that they get to add perks in the next game for people who bought this one because it really doesnt feel worth it.
