Worst Piranha Bytes game, no wonder the studio closed after they made it.

Still, it was fun, despite all the bugs, and poor optimization, and ugly faces, and wonky combat (I'm used to it after the Gothic series), and half-arsed plot twists, and obviously rushed ending... Man it's a bad game, why am I recommending it? Is it because I love Gothic games, or because having a jetpack is so cool, or because here you can join leather-clad gachimuchi basement-dwelling edgelords, I don't even know.

Think twice before buying it. And then think again.

After XCOM: EW and XCOM 2, this game is just a cheap and shallow ripoff. It feels fake, overly simplified and casualized, and smells of leftist agenda.

Man this game is great. It feels a lot like Bioshock and a bit like Dead Space. The plot keeps you hooked until the end (please don't spoil it for yourself like I did), the combat is satisfyingly entertaining and variative, and there is something you can do differently during multiple playthroughs. Definitely worth playing.

This game is scary, disgusting, but in the same time beautiful and very unsual. Its story is told by the environment and symbolism, and there's a lot of questions left unanswered. Combat here isn't really good, but it's not the game's main focus. Most of the time you walk around, get spooked and solve puzzles.

Elex is a great game if you have enjoyed the Gothic or Risen series back in the day. Here are some details:

+ Nice graphics - sometimes the views are very pleasant.
+ Multiple ways to solve most of the quests.
+ Your actions have consequences and impact the NPCs and yourself.
+ Remarkable characters with their own personalities.
+ Vertical exploration - you have a jetpack! Limited, but still great.
+/- More or less typical for RPGs companion gathering and rudimental base building.
+/- Weak romance line (but it's there!).
+/- Some things are resolved basing on your *cold* score (how human you are), and you won't be able to trigger them without the needed emotional/neutral/cold.
+/- Three different factions to choose from - but you can't go factionless.
- Clunky combat system.
- Almost all monsters can spew damaging clouds of blood or energy. I understand that it was made to prevent cheesing the combat by shooting everyone from up high, but it just looks stupid.

So, Elex is very much like Gothic 1-2:
- The combat feels the same.
- The same three factions, one of which you have to join to progress through the story and even get better armor and character abilities.
- The same wimpy MC at the start who becomes a superhero by the end.
- The same thieves' guild that is hiding in the sewers.
- The same three main paths of building your character (melee, ranged, magic).
- Even the same NPC names!

Definitely worth getting if you liked previous PB games, worth trying if you never played them, and you should avoid this game if you hate Gothic or Risen.

Sorry, but I can't recommend this game. Despite being a brilliant RTS with which I've had tons of fun years ago, the publisher didn't bother to adapt it to 16:9 resolutions.
Please let me know when there's an out of the box solution for widescreen.

CDPR did wonders to the Neverwinter Nights' Aurora engine and created this awesome RPG.

Here's what I liked:

- Beautiful soundtrack
- The setting is just great. All the monsters and dark fantasy stuff
- The key NPCs feel actually alive
- There are things where your decision matter, here and in the next games

What I didn't like:
- The outdated graphics and loading screens. Well, the game is old, it is to be expected
- The combat isn't tht fun, it works like RPS where you need to use the correct sword and the correct combat style
- With my habit of quicksaving every few minutes the save folder got bloated soon and game started to freeze when I opened save/load menu. Once in a while you'd need to bulk remove the old saves from there

About the story - the main line doesn't shine, but there's a lot of interesing little things to it, so it's enjoyable.

So, it's a sturdy RPG that is quite fun and interesting to play, despite the flaws I listed.

Fallout 3 is a really good post-apocalyptic RPG that managed to keep the spirit of the original Fallout within completely different gameplay.

Good stuff:

- Graphics are still somewhat good
- The atmosphere of post-apocalyptic wasteland is induced very well
- Tons of mods (I played vanilla with stability fixes though)
- A couple hundreds of hours of content

Bad stuff:

- Installing and making it work without crashes won't be easy

I had to spend some time making it work, but it was worth it. The DLCs are also pretty fun. I'd recommend this game to both fans of original Fallout and those who aren't familiar with the series.

Fallout is one of my favourite series, and Fallout 1 is known as a classic RPG that made a great contribution to the genre.

Positives:

+ Complex character development system with a wide range of possible builds
+ Atmoshperic setting of post-apocalyptic wasteland and retrofuturistic technology
+ Many ways to solve your tasks, usually allowing for both cowboy and diplomat approaches as well as some additional possibilities
+ The lore is pretty rich, you can spend hours learning it
+ Maaaaaayybeeeeee

Negatives:

- This game is 20+ years old by now, it is only natural that it looks dated
- Poor companion controls (RIP Dogmeat)

If you are not afraid of old isometric turn-based RPGs, then you should play this game. At least once.
