Early Access Review
Never bow down to people demanding tolerance, respect and inclusion by being intolerant, disrespectful and divisive. Stand straight Artur and keep your vision intact.

1€ is basically free. And that is a great price.

Black Bandai Namco logo is a massive improvement and the content itself is as good as Elden Ring.

But the frame drops man. There is clearly some issue with spell/water effects. Blue castle at the waterfall area is 40 FPS no matter the settings. Even when using the perfume weapon charged heavy attack it drops to 50. Yes, the game is playable, bosses are beatable, but the enjoyment is not there when I need to play passively because the frames are dropping to 30 while the boss is casting something.
The base used to run at solid 60, now it runs at ~50.

What a shame.

More than a decade ago I basically lived in this game. It was one of the most amazing MMO experience I ever had, until they started to implement more and more things into cash shop, making "thunderstruck seeds" purchasable and many more changes which drove majority of people away. Seeing our guild members' houses getting demolished one by one was truly depressing.

Few years ago I found out I can log into my old account via Steam, my characters were still there, I visited familiar places, ride around on my mounts, tractors, cars and boats then I logged off. When I heard about the server merge and people need to log in to keep their characters I didn't do it. I let them get deleted and put this saga behind me.

I will always have fond memories of this game and friends I made, but this is a great example how greed ruined amazing game which had potential to become the new golden standard for MMOs.

July 28h: Mrs Freeze reminds me of the French Olympic games openning.

May 19th: 130 active players and 71% positive ratings. Is WB paying Steam to delete negative reviews again?

40% off after a month since release proves something is horribly wrong with this game. But I guess it worked. The player count doubled. To almost one whole thousand player peak in the last 24 hours. Well done Rocksteady. You are really shaking up the industry. And the low number of reviews and mostly positive score makes me think only people who play this game are girls which want to play as Harley. I never cared much about superheroes, but I feel your pain DC fans. I felt the same with Resident Evil movies, Disney Star Wars or Witcher on Netflix. This game embodies what is wrong with big budget projects bound to please investors.

Pros
Cutscenes look great and the game runs well. It makes me excited to see games made in Unreal Engine 5, but by competent and creative people.

Cons
Everything else. I pre-watched cutscenes on YouTube so I can skip them since I expected I will refund this game and I wanted to experience as much gameplay as possible, but it is basically *protect X against waves of the enemies* over and over again. And it was truly a mind-numbing experience. The visual bloat, characters constantly talking, the braindead gameplay. I will have more fun watching next financial report of Rocksteady than playing this crap.

It is not fun per se, but losing three limbs and getting ass raped in the first ten minutes is definitely an experience.

Not only is this game playable on release (which is sadly a foreign concept to many studios), but it's so damn fun and in-depth... Vote with your wallets people, this is the one.

Modern Disney quality of writing / 10

Writing in this game is absolutely abysmal. Lame ironic observation humor, hyper annoying characters and no substance whatsoever. Playing with voices muted and without subtitles makes it somewhat bearable. But nah, I don't want to see my favorite characters turned into parodies of themselves.

Andúril dawg.

To be fair the character design is great. He looks like some badass dude from Harad of from some other southern kingdom. Make new characters, write new stories, expand the lore and people will love it. But don't try to push him as Aragorn to lazily boost your ESG score. That is just pathetic.

It is sad to see your favorite games and IPs devolve into something to please shareholders by pushing awful monetization practices and using inclusivity and diversity as a shield against criticism. Maybe if WotC wouldn't pay so much money to woke legacy media shills to defend their bad decisions, there would be no reason to milk their fanbase for every last dime. We see the 25% stock price drop in the last year. Is not what WoC want but definitely what they deserve.

Metro 2033 is at its best when you are not lead by an NPC nor "on rails", pun intended. So not very often. But the despite painful linearity it is still an enjoyable game. And the outside sections are just gorgeous. Hard to believe Redux came out 10 years ago.
