I can't say I recommend this game. It's polished, the gameplay is somewhat fun, but...

It gets repetitive really fast, each quest is simply a fetch quest flavoured to one of three NPCs, there's little challenge to it, and I never really figured out what was so scary about being out at night? A critique of the game is that the day goes by too fast, but I think the intent was to make you have to navigate through the night at least a little bit. But there was hardly ever any consequence for doing so. Once that was realised, the game lost a lot of allure for me. I beat it in about 10 hours, so it's a short game too.

What an amazing game. The gameplay is easy to learn yet challenging, the story is intriguing, the characters have personality, and the soundtrack is the best I've heard since Deltarune. If you enjoy this genre at all, it's a must-play. I highly recommend it.

If you've never played a Monster Hunter game before, do not start here. In fact, I recommend not starting this series at all. The controls are outdated and clunky. They remain antiquated because "that's how it's always been" in this series. In a game that emphasises movement and speed, why in the world do you have to stop and put your weapon away to drink a potion? Why is there no jump button? Why can you only run when you put your weapon away??? Why can't I use an item when I select it in my backpack, but have to equip it in a quick menu and use it outside of my inventory???? There are so many strange gameplay design choices that fly in the face of modern game development practices.

I rarely write reviews, but this game deserves a warning. I played this for an hour and a half with a friend and refunded it immediately. Based on my experience with this game, I will never play another Monster Hunter game. Again, unless you've played this series before, don't start now, and certainly do not start with this title.

Early Access Review
Even though it's still technically in its "Early Release" phase, there's dozens of hours of content to keep you occupied. Fun, challenging, multiplayer, crafting, combat. What's more to say?

A decent VR Shooter RPG title! "Platforming" puzzles, fun combat, powerful sci-fi weapons. It gets better as the story progresses.

I'd compare this to Half Life: Alyx and Boneworks, although admittedly, these two games are better than Vertigo in many ways...but Vertigo is still fun! Short campaign, though.

If Half Life: Alyx is a 10/10 and Boneworks is a 9/10, I'd give Vertigo Remastered a 7.5/10.

Fluid combat, challenging difficulty, well-paced progression, intriguing story. Every element feels polished, despite it being in Early Access. If you enjoy roguelikes and dungeon-crawlers, this is one of the easiest recommendations to make.

A very stunning game, in story, aesthetics, atmosphere, music, and gameplay. A must play for anyone who loves any sort of platforming game.
