I swear the glowing reviews have to be from people who haven't left the first biome yet.

The game only gets progressively more irritating as you go.

The plains is where it starts getting unbearably annoying, and the mistlands was so awful I went ahead and read spoilers about the ashlands to see if it's worth suffering through and just decided to call it quits. Your reward for being miserable is being more miserable.

Lore-wise this works, but for entertainment I'll pass on the simulated torture hell, thanks.

Fun movement and combat. The gear system, battlepass, and making Ivy look like Beans from Even Stevens is a bit weird. There were a bit too many cutscenes that were a bit too long and a bit too often in my opinion.

It also runs like absolute hot garbage at times even on low with a ryzen 7 5800x and 3070 and DLSS, which exceeds the minimum and sits right below recommended CPU specs, so what gives?

Full price? Absolutely not.

Only recommending it based on the price I got it for.

played through the campaign, experienced constant glitches such as side quests breaking and audio not working. horde mode is insanely boring. modern gaming in a nutshell.

everything about this game is interesting except the act of playing it. only beat it through pure elbow grease and the indomitable human spirit.

i feel like this game gets a lot of leeway because weebs and hur dur japan. it's not terrible, but i wouldn't say it's outstanding. it's a pretty par for the course open world xp skill tree collectathon game. the music is pretty fantastic though.

enemy design is neat but limited and the combat can feel good but most encounters play out the same way each time. i feel like overall this game would've been better as a linear game.

if you're really interested, get it on sale or something.

game itself is dope, miles is pretty dope, but the game has some poor writing from the main villain that ends up being irritating. It's a short game btw so get on sale.

be warned: it runs like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on modern OSs and hardware.

it was decent. some glitches that can softlock the game are present and often enough to warrant mentioning. they can be solved with the "reload checkpoint" button so it's not a huge deal.

combat can be fun when they throw a lot at you, but they rarely do except in the last hour or two, even on hard. i wish there was an arena mode or combat challenges mode or something.

voice acting and graphics are top notch and the game runs very well, which most games of 2022 and 2023 do not, so that's worth mentioning sadly.

game is about 18 hours long but i took a couple of ♥♥♥♥♥ while paused so i hit 20 hours, so $60 is a bit steep. get it on sale for 30 bucks or something and it'd be a good purchase.

At 70 bucks? nope. the game is "okay" at best. it doesn't look much better than dishonored (which is a 2012 game) but it runs so bad it's actually impressive. if they ever fix the abysmal performance, the game is maybe worth $25-30 on sale. in its current state just get it on game pass or something and one-and-done it.

shoulda released it in early access or something and it wouldn't have gotten so much flack.
