Spelunky 2 is one of the best and the hardest roguelike platformers out there. The sequel was executed pretty much almost perfectly and is packed with even more content and playability than its predecessor. It does have a couple weaker points, like the soundtrack (Spelunky HD offered a variation between level music and it was generally more lively), weird level generation (too many arrow traps or moles, weird "puzzle" patterns) and weird difficulty scaling (The Dwelling (first stage) is harder than the later stages).

I'd say my favourite aspect of this sequel is not all the new content, but rather the fact that the developers stayed incredibly truthful to the previous part, making the spirit of Spelunky ever-present while also implementing several "serious" changes (I hate the new climbing gloves, though). All the tiny nudges, easter eggs and lore elements make the world quite lively.

I've spent about 600 hours in Spelunky HD and I'm hoping to spend even more in the sequel, keep it up Derek.
