After three years of waiting on my Christmas gift, it has been worth the wait. First things first, I never encountered bugs that made the game completely unplayable, meaning no crashing either, which is surprising since I'm playing the Day One Patch version of the game. I found the game very easy, only occasionally struggling with fights, and even then briefly. The game is more platformer than RPG, gaining new abilities as you play through the story. The fighting in the game is dependent on where you are standing, meaning some characters will basically be useless because you're on a heavy slope. It also opens to the possibility of it bugging out on you, characters not being able to attack because there is something in the way, them infinitely falling into a pit, view being obstructed by something in the foreground, or getting thrown out of combat because Ajna hit some spikes or fell off an edge, all of which I've encountered at least once. Quite a few enemies also hit multiple characters even though it shows they're only going to hit one, which can make things frustrating, especially since if you miss the first block, you probably won't be allowed to block the rest either. A lot of these can be fixed though, which hopefully they are in future patches. The real highlight of the game is its world and story, both being interesting and great, containing vibrant and diverse characters and varying backgrounds. My only real issue with the characters is that you end up with quite a few of them at the end, and you can only use three at a time, so once you find your A-Team, the rest will never leave your head again, save for during cutscenes. I know I said a lot of negative stuff, but I'm still glad I played it.

Early Access Review
It has more weapons, more enemy types, more interactions with enemies and weapons, and most importantly, more SUPERHOT. It's incredibly good.

(Warning: About ten of those hours were me leaving the game running because I didn't want to lose my progress in a boss fight I was struggling with) I can't think of another game that has made me think, "One more death." Game has taken me back in with Hard Mode, and boy is it hard. 1759+ deaths in Hard Mode. (I tested a fight with another weapon, but didn't record the numbers from it, so don't know exact number)

Wow I loved it! While the game would crash occasionally when I went to the main menu, once got attacked by a Demon while in the van that caused me to be unable to do anything, and got out of the railcar at the start of Taiga leading to me falling through the world, it still ran really well. I felt more interested in the world than the other games, each level seemingly lovingly crafted with their own unique environments and people. I think my only real complaint is that I wish there was more enemy and weapon variety, especially with the mutants, most coming from the previous games.

As much as I love the OST, it contains less than half of the songs that are in the game. Also, your phone needs to be able to read FLAC or WAV for it to work. I hope that they add the rest of the songs in the future, but it's disappointing how little there is here

The game is consistently updated, the Digital Extremes is constantly transparent with the community, has hundreds of hours of content, and it's free. It won't hurt to pick it up and try it.

So lets start with the basics, Mooncrash took me about 7 hours to complete. If you dislike randomized variables and restarting at death, you should avoid this, because as the trailer shows, you will be restarting a lot. Before I go into more details, I would like to say that this could have easily faired as a standalone expansion.
Mooncrash adds new:
-Enemies
-Items
-Mechanics
The moon base also features 4 individual maps that will have their own hazards and at least one escape route. While I could talk about this DLC for hours, I don't want to ruin the mechanical surprises I got from going in blind!

This might have been my Game of the Year for 2017. I was able to sink in 24 hours into my first playthrough, and a lot of stuff was unfinished with that one. Get $40 and buy the Digital Deluxe so then you can get in even more time with Mooncrash, which is incredible in its own right. Just be on the look out for bugs.

It feels like more than just the art director from Journey worked on this. The game is simply gorgeous to play, and the soundtrack perfectly accompanies it. I think my only issue is that the controls can be a bit of a struggle.
